BETHANY DECKER - Early 20's - Washington DC
Kim Nelson says her daughter Bethany Decker is her lipgloss and flip-flop girl. Decker is a senior at George Mason University. Her
husband of nearly two years is a soldier serving in Afghanistan with
the National Guard. Nelson is helping take care of their son Kai. "She
is at school and so we’ve been able to help her by watching Kai for
her. She is always seeing how he is doing. We’re sending pictures back
and forth,” said Nelson. The college senior, who is also five months pregnant, was with her family on Christmas Day. "This
is the first year Kai was really into opening up presents and that was
just a joy and she just loved watching Kai open up his presents," said
Nelson. That was the last time anyone in the family saw her.
"Bethany
usually calls or texts or she is in contact with her siblings on a
regular basis. She probably talks to one of us almost daily,” Nelson
said. Investigators say Decker was last seen by a friend at her
apartment in Ashburn on January 29. Police say her car was still in the
parking lot, but she was nowhere to be found. "A lot of parents
can relate. Maybe their kids did not charge up their cell phone and
they’re off at the mall or something like that. You can't reach them and
[know] what that feels like when you can’t reach your child," said
Nelson. "To just not know where she is and not be able to pick up the
phone and call her, that's just the hardest part, not knowing where she
is, but trusting that God is keeping her safe."
Investigators
say they are checking her Facebook and credit cards, but so far, there
has been no activity. At this point, they are looking at all
possibilities. Decker is white, stands about 4'11" tall, weighing
130 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. Anyone with information is
asked to contact Inv. M. Halley at 703-777-0475.

Loudoun County sheriff's deputies searched the home of Bethany Decker's boyfriend, and investigators believe someone has posed as the 21-year-old missing mother from Ashburn on her Facebook page since she disappeared.
Originally it was believed that Decker's husband was the last to see her Jan. 29, but according to a search warrant affidavit, the boyfriend, 21-year-old Ronald Roldan, saw her later that night. Police said Decker and Roldan were living together for two months and she was five months pregnant with his baby.
Police said he moved back in with his mother last month.
Police said Decker's Facebook page had been inactive but someone accessed it to pose as Decker and communicate with her friends.
The husband, 21-year-old Emile Decker, is serving with the U.S. Army in Afghanistan. Bethany Decker is a senior at George Mason University.

Hope she is OK but imho she should not have been having an affair and having another man's baby. A lot of information was left out of the original article. Sadly I don't think this will have a happy outcome.

Deputies Search Near Bethany Decker's Home
Updated 8:07 AM EDT, Fri, Mar 25, 2011
Loudoun County sheriff's deputies returned to Ashburn, Va., Thursday to search for clues in the disappearance of the pregnant wife of a man who was serving in Afghanistan, NBC Washington's Julie Carey reported.
Bethany Decker, 21, disappeared two months ago. She is believed to be about six months pregnant.
Deputies combed the fields and woods across the road from Decker's apartment
building, where her boyfriend last saw her on Jan. 29. No obvious clues
or evidence was recovered, but Capt. Ken Pratt, of the Loudoun County
Sheriff's Office, said deputies did find some things worth checking out
further.
Investigators also continue to analyze data from
phones and other electronic devices taken from the Centreville house
where Decker's boyfriend, Ronald Roldan, shares a basement apartment
with his mother. He is the last known person to have spoken with
Decker, and according to court documents, he is the father of Decker's
unborn child and lived at Bethany Decker's apartment while her husband
was away at military training.
Since Jan. 29, Decker has not used her bank accounts, cell phone or email and
hasn't attended her classes at George Mason University, investigators
said. Someone pretending to be Decker posted updates on her Facebook page, and investigators would like to find out whom that is.
Emile Decker, the missing woman's husband and father of her toddler, deployed
to Afghanistan with his National Guard unit on Feb. 2, but he returned
to Virginia last week.

Home searched in connection with missing woman
Centreville man is alleged boyfriend of Ashburn woman last seen in January, sheriff says
Earlier this month, investigators with the Loudoun County Sheriff's
Office searched the Centreville home of the alleged boyfriend of a
missing 21-year-old pregnant Ashburn woman. The man, Ronald
Roldan, is believed to be both the father of the unborn child and the
last person to see Bethany Anne Decker before she disappeared,
according to authorities and a search warrant filed in Fairfax County
Circuit Court. Although the warrant cites first-degree murder
and second-degree murder as justification for the search, there have
been no suspects named in Decker's disappearance, said investigator
Vince DiBenedetto, spokesman for the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.
"[Roldan] is a cooperating witness. We're just looking at everything
we can possibly find that would give some indication as to what
happened," DiBenedetto said. According to the warrant,
Decker's vehicle was found Jan. 29 in the parking lot of an Ashburn
apartment complex where she shared an apartment with Roldan. The
warrant also states that Roldan "made conflicting statements regarding
when he noticed her car being parked in the parking lot in front of
their shared apartment." The lease on the apartment expired Jan. 31.
Since moving out of the apartment in February, Roldan has been
living with his mother in the 14700 block of St. Germain Drive in
Centreville. Attempts to contact him have been unsuccessful. The
warrant states that investigators on March 1 seized immigration papers,
a black bag with assorted papers, keys and other things from the
Centreville home. Decker's estranged husband, Emile Decker,
21, who is serving with the Army National Guard in Afghanistan, is
cooperating with authorities, DiBenedetto said. Investigators
last week spoke to Emile Decker -- the father of the couple's
17-month-old son -- and made contact with military officials to
possibly bring the solider home, Loudoun Sheriff's Capt. Ken Pratt said. "He
wants to cooperate fully. He was very concerned of Bethany's
whereabouts, condition. ... He wants to hear a good resolution to
this," Pratt said. Investigators said during a March 2 news
conference that the couple, who have been married about 18 months, were
together from at least Jan. 18 to Jan. 23, during a trip to Hawaii,
when Emile Decker was home on leave. He left Feb. 2 to return to Afghanistan. His wife did not see him off, investigators said. The
couple's son has been living with Bethany Decker's parents in
Fredericksburg while her husband was deployed, and she attended college
full time at George Mason University.
During the March 2 news conference in Loudoun County, her family pleaded for the public's help in finding their daughter. The last time her family saw her was at a Jan. 28 family gathering in Columbia, Md. "We want Bethany safe. We love her and we want to know that she is OK," said Bethany Decker's mother, Kim Nelson. In
addition to attending college classes, Bethany Decker, who is five
months pregnant, was working as a waitress when her family lost contact
with her. Decker usually was in contact with some member of
her family every day, either through phone calls, text messages or
Facebook messages, her mother said. As the days passed with no contact, her family said they didn't worry right away, since the 21-year-old had a hectic lifestyle. It
was only when her grandparents stopped by her Ashburn apartment on Feb.
19 on their way to Fredericksburg and found her vehicle parked at the
complex that they began to worry, her grandmother Evelyn Bayles said. "We just had a feeling. We were concerned," Bayles said. Decker
has been missing for six weeks, and the search warrant claims that as
of March 1, there had been no reported activity in her bank accounts or
on her cell phone. Investigators continue to say there is no evidence
or indication that she is dead. Loudoun County deputies
searched the nearby woods for clues March 1 as part of a routine
investigation near her Orchard Grass Terrace apartment, but came up
empty-handed, Pratt said. Investigators are combing through
Decker's cell phone records, bank and Facebook accounts for evidence of
her whereabouts, Pratt said. All activity on those accounts stopped Jan. 29, investigators said. Decker's family describes her as "strong, outgoing and determined" woman who was studying global and economic change.
Bethany Decker is about 4-foot-10, weighs 130 pounds and has brown hair and brown eyes. Anyone with information is asked to contact Loudoun County Sheriff's investigator Mack Halley at 703-777-0475. gmacdonald@fairfaxtimes.com

Disappearance Still Unsolved
The end of 2011
marks almost a year since anyone has seen a young Ashburn mother
who disappeared in January while pregnant with her second child,
but authorities have not given up the search.
Bethany Anne Decker, 22, was last seen Jan. 29, when she was about
four months pregnant, and despite her due date passing in early
August, there has been no sign of her or her new baby. There has
been no activity on her bank accounts, cell phones or e-mail and
she has not attended any of her classes at George Mason University,
according to the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office.
Since she was reported missing, the sheriff's office has released
several photos of Decker, in varying stages of her first pregnancy
to help the public know what she might look like, and her distinct
tattoo, which is a stick figure with a V-shaped torso and a half
circle from arm to arm, above its head.
Decker was last seen the evening of Jan. 29 at her apartment on
Orchard Grass Terrace in Ashburn by Ronald Roldan, who has been
cooperating with the investigation. Roldan, who has been identified
as Decker's boyfriend through numerous sources and reports, was
believed to have been staying at the apartment, which only bore
Decker's name on the lease.
The married mother of one was reported missing by her grandparents
Feb. 19 when they came to her apartment after weeks of no contact
to find her car there, but Decker was nowhere around. Decker's
husband Emile Decker, a private with the Army National Guard,
returned to service in Afghanistan Feb. 2 after a brief R&R,
where the couple traveled to Hawaii to visit relatives. The
couple's child, Kai, was staying with Bethany Decker's mother in
Fredericksburg at the time of her disappearance.
After working for weeks with the Army, the sheriff's office was
able to bring Emile Decker home to Loudoun. While he has since
returned to his overseas deployment, he has been cooperating fully
with the investigation.
Investigators have interviewed Decker's friends as well as her
co-workers from Carrabba's Italian Grill in Centreville, which is
where she met Roldan.
Search warrants have been obtained for cell phones and computers in
the home and a forensic examination of these items is being
conducted. Search warrants also were obtained for the email and
Facebook accounts of Roldan and Emile Decker, and for Roldan's
mother's home, where he was staying after leaving Decker's
apartment. There has been speculation that the child Decker is
carrying is Roldan's, but family spokesperson Peter Byrnes said
there has been no medical evidence to prove that rumor true.
Byrnes said in August her family was hoping someone will come
forward who knows what happened. "We have a young lady who
disappeared under very mysterious circumstances. We would love to
know what happened," Byrnes said. "But there really is no sign.
There is nothing that says that some act of violence happened.
There is nothing to say that didn't happen."

Boyfriend of missing pregnant woman breaks silence

ASHBURN, Va. - The last person to see Bethany Ann Decker, before she disappeared in Jan. 2011 while five months pregnant, believes she is alive and will return home safely.
Ronald Roldan's attorney, Andi Geloo, tells WTOP, "my client remains hopeful and prays daily that Bethany will come home."
Loudoun County Sheriff's investigators have said Roldan was living with Decker, despite her being married to Emile Decker, who was serving in Afghanistan. Emile Decker has since returned to the U.S.
Bethany Decker had described Roldan's demeanor to family and friends as "controlling and abusive" according to investigators in court documents.
Investigators searched Roldan's mother's home, with a search warrant, soon after her disappearance.
"My client has met with them, and has been cooperative," Geloo says.
Sources in the sheriff's office said Roldan eventually ceased answering questions.
WTOP reported earlier Decker, whose due date was in Aug. 2011, met Roldan at Carrabba's Italian Grill in Centreville, while she worked there.
According to investigators, it's unclear who fathered Decker's child.
"The Decker family is thankful that Mr. Roldan is hopeful and full of prayer, " says family spokesman Peter Byrnes.
"We're holding out hope she's fine, and somewhere else, and wanting to be alone," Byrnes said.
Byrnes and investigators have said there's no indication of foul play, activity on her bank accounts, cellphones or email.
"The family is of the opinion she's still out there," Byrnes says. "We just want to know she's okay."
Byrnes acknowledges, "It's frustrating to not have an ending to the story."
"The family stands by Mr. Decker," says Byrnes. "He's trying to get on with things - this is a monumentally frustrating and upsetting situation."
Last week, Loudoun Sheriff Michael Chapman declined to characterize whether Emile Decker or Ronald Roldan were cooperating or targets of the investigation, saying the case remains active.
"My client has a lot of confidence in the Loudoun County Sheriff's Office," Geloo says. "He has complete confidence they're working hard on the case."
Byrnes says Roldan has never reached out to the Decker family, and that few if any family members had ever met him. Investigators say Roldan saw Decker after she last saw her husband, who was returning to Afghanistan after military leave.
"What happened in their last meeting, we don't know," Byrnes says.
"It's odd that someone falls off the face of the earth," Byrnes says. "We're just kind of watching and waiting and hoping."

Re: BETHANY DECKER - Early 20's - Washington DC
[i]Guess she has never been found because TV just aired a show about her disappearance. Isn't it curious that the man she was living with didn't report her missing?"[i]
Investigation Discovery will air a show on missing mother Bethany Decker.
November 26, 2012
Investigation Discovery will broadcast a show Monday evening on missing Ashburn mother Bethany Ann Decker, a student at George Mason University who has been missing since January 2011.
The Soldier's Wife, part of the "Disappeared" series, airs at 10 p.m. Monday evening, Nov. 26. The episode will touch on the events surrounding Decker's disappearance last year.
Decker, 21 at the time of her disappearance, was five months pregnant when she was last seen on Jan. 29, 2011, at the apartment she was planning to move out of. She had just returned a few weeks earlier from a trip with her estranged husband (a soldier in the National Guard) and child (who is now three years old). She lived in Ashburn with Ronald Roldan, of Centreville, who investigators said is the last known person to have seen Decker. She vanished seemingly without a trace: there has been no activity on her bank accounts, cell phone or email. Investigators said that she did not leave the country.
On Feb. 19, 2011, her grandparents found her car at the apartment, and reported her missing. Authorities have not identified a suspect or a crime related to Decker.
