The Wisconsin Clearinghouse for Missing and Exploited Children and
Adults is assisting the Madison Police Department in the search for
James Smith. We are distributing the following flier which was produced
by the Clearinghouse for your information.

James was last seen on March 13, 2011. He was
wearing pants, a gray t-shirt, red fleece, and black shoes. He may be in
the need of medical attention.

through the Wisconsin Clearinghouse for Missing and Exploited Children

MADISON, Wis. (AP) - A body found by a
Madison area resident has been identified as that of a missing
developmentally disabled teenager.
A search for 18-year-old James Smith involved
officers on horseback, police dogs, ATVs, a helicopter and a fixed-wing
airplane. Smith disappeared from an East Side apartment Sunday night.
The State Journal says Madison police sent
reverse 911 calls to 22,000 East Side homes asking residents to be on
the lookout for Smith. A resident checked his property line Tuesday

MADISON - A developmentally-disabled teenager missing since Sunday
night from his apartment in Madison has been found dead. A resident
found the body of 18-year-old James Smith last night in an east side
Madison neighborhood, after police and others conducted an
air-and-ground search. Earlier yesterday, police asked
residents to look for Smith in a recorded phone call sent to 22,000 east
side homes. After hearing the call, a resident checked his yard and saw
Smith’s body near a fence line. Foul play is not suspected. Police said
Smith had a number of medical conditions, and was prone to seizures.
