Arpad Vass is on the stand. He is from Oakridge and a research scientist. He is on vacation and being paid as an expert witness. He is a senior research scientist, for 4 or 5 years. There was a lot of history on how and what Dr. Vass has done and read. He is a very smart man, and has done a lot. He has had articles published.

Testing the air: sucked out the air, from the can, and injected on the GCMS the profile was examined. The reported result of the air from the can, was chloroform. After they concentrated the sample, they decided to remove the carpet and put it in a plastic bag and to make sure that it was from the carpet. They incubated the rug and tested the air in that special bag! There is no compounds in this bag. After this test, there was a MAJOR chloroform compound in this bag. The squirrel was also tested. The squirrel did NOT smell like decomposition! Very great examination.
