Mother of missing Edmonton girl dies without answers

She spent almost half of her life waiting for her little girl to come home.

There's word Vivian Murrell, 55, has passed away.

Her six-year-old daughter, Tania Marie Murrell, disappeared after heading home for lunch from Grovenor Elementary School back on January 20, 1983.



At the time she went missing, Tania had a 2cm birthmark at her hairline and her ears were unevenly pierced. This year, would be her 34th birthday.

Edmonton Police have long searched for the missing girl. In 2008, they excavated a west Edmonton basement in hopes to find her remains. Nothing was ever found, and the case is still classified as a missing persons case.
