East TN AMBER Alert issued for missing 15-year-old girl

Officials have issued an East Tennessee AMBER Alert for a missing 15-year-old girl.
According to a release, 15-year-old Monica Johnson was last seen on May 11, 2011.
Officials believe she is with her non-custodial father
35-year-old Thomas Whitt Johnson.
Monica is 5'6", weighs 152 pounds and was last seen wearing a black hoodie
with Red Bank printed on it and blue jeans.
Thomas is a violent sex offender who is currently on parole. He cut
off his GPS tracking device and left the area in a stolen vehicle.
Thomas is 5'11" tall and weighs 184 pounds. He has numerous tattoos,
large gauge piercing in both ears and has brown hair and blue eyes.
Officials believe Thomas will be driving a black 2010 Kia Soul with TN plates 990YVK.

Missing girl found safe, suspect in custody

According to officials with TBI Monica Johnson was found safe on Wednesday evening.


The non-custodial father involved is in custody.
