An 18-year-old man who Shelbyville police were searching for Friday
after he and his family went missing under suspicious circumstances has a
warrant out for his arrest.Joseph R. Guy, 18, along with his
parents, Robert L. Guy and Debra K. Guy, both 52, and his brother,
Zachary C. Guy, 2, have not been heard from in a week, police said
Friday.
6News' Joanna Massee reported Friday night that Joseph Guy is wanted in Marion County on suspicion of violating bond related to a stalking charge.

ccording to police reports, Joseph Guy, who worked as a private security
guard in Indianapolis, sexually harassed a co-worker, prompting the man
to call police at least twice.In one report, after Guy followed the co-worker home, police said they found zip ties and a gun in his vehicle.The
warrant was issued Tuesday, the same day police went to the Guys' home
in Shelbyville for a welfare check after a cousin said no one had heard
from them.
A police spokesman told 6News that officers found the home empty and discovered things at the scene that were suspicious."There was evidence there that would not be typical of someone leaving for vacation,” the spokesman said.Robert and Debra Guy had both worked at a medical supply company in Shelbyville but had recently quit their jobs, police said.According
to Joseph Guy's Facebook page, he announced last month he was running
for mayor of Shelbyville, and included a link to his campaign page. His name did not appear on either primary ballot.Robert
Guy is described as white, 5 feet 11 inches tall, 300 pounds with blue
eyes and red hair. Debra Guy is described as white, 5 feet 6 inches
tall, 250 pounds with white hair and green eyes.Joseph Guy, is
described as white, 6 feet tall, 220 pounds with red hair and green
eyes. His brother, Zachary Guy, who is adopted, is described as a black
toddler.The family has two vehicles -- a black 2008 four-door
Hyundai with Indiana license plate No. 537BOP and a white Mercury

Even though neighbors saw a Shelbyville family
leaving their home in their cars nearly two weeks ago authorities say
the Guy family is missing under suspicious circumstances. While many
questions remains, one thing is clear: the family's oldest son should
still be at home.

Robert Guy,52, his wife, Debra guy, 52, Joseph,
18, and Zachary, 2 years old, are missing. Police say they disappeared
under suspicious circumstances.

The Guy's adopted Zachary after their daughter died tragically.

Until last Wednesday I have not seen them at all," said Tristen Boyd, a neighbor.

Joseph was on house arrest, picked up by police on a stalking charge back in
January. In his PT Cruiser's front seat an officer found a handgun, a
bag of zip-ties and a notepad with his alleged victim's license plate
number written on it.

Any Ivy Tech College security guard said
the teen had been harrassing him, showing up at his work, making sexual
advances towards him, then following him.

The teenager posted a
lot about himself on-line. He hosts a radio blog, he created a fan page
on Facebook where he calls himself a musician. He also claims to be a
fitness trainer.

A web page is also dedicated to Joseph's desire to run for mayor of Shelbyville.

"I
sent them a birthday card, a Christmas card, an anniversary card, and I
told them I'd like to hear from them, and not a thing," said Agnes
Hain, a Pennsylvania woman who said Robert was a pastor at her church.
She spoke with Fox59 by phone.

She knew Joseph as a child, and she says the visited each other for years, even after the family moved away.

Joseph mentioned Hain in a book he wrote titled 'One Childs Cry for Hope.' He
dedicated the book to his sister, Sarah Campbell, 24, who died in a
house fire on Oxford Street in Indianapolis in February 2009.

The other burn victim was Leroy McQueen, 54. The official cause of death
for Campbell and McQueen was carbon monoxide poisoning and smoke
inhalation.

Firfighters did not find any furniture inside the
home, only sleeping bags and clothes. Police say the two may have been
squatters because the house was supposed to be vacant.

The book detailed the Guy family's journey from one state to another.

When the teen lived in Tennessee he lovingly spoke about another woman who
was a member of Independent Bible Church, a church where his father had
been a pastor.

"I just don't think it would be a family that
would just pick up and disapear, no," said Eva Young, who spoke with
FOX59 by phone.

But the family apparently had strained relationships.

A police report from March mentions a protection order Joseph took out
against his father. Police were called to the home that now sits vacant.
A court order made it mandatory that guns and other weapons had to be
removed from the home.

The Guy's have two vehicles registered to
them, one being a black 2008 four door Hyundai, with Indiana License
plate number 537 BOP.

SHELBYVILLE, Ind. (WISH) - Neighbors of the
four-member Guy family, missing for over a week, said they were
concerned for their own families upon hearing this news.
“Surprised me when they said they were missing,” Augustine Ramirez said. Ramirez
lives next door, but he only knows the Guy family from the church both
families attend, Bible Holiness Church in Shelbyville.
“We just decided that probably the best thing is to let detectives do their
work,” church Youth Minister David Spivey said, deferring questions to police.
But the police department is remaining tight lipped too, declining interviews for two days about this case.
24-Hour News 8 uncovered details about the Guy family.
Tragedy hit in early 2009 when Robert and Debra Guy’s 24-year-old daughter,
Sarah Campbell, died in an Indianapolis house fire. The house was listed as vacant.
Police found the girl with a 52-year-old man. He also died in the fire.
Sarah’s son Zachary, now 2-years-old, was only 5-months-old when she died. He
was later adopted by Sarah’s parents. Zachary is among the family members missing now.
The family patriarch, Robert, 52, was formerly a pastor, according to his son, Joseph.
A protective order had been placed against Josepth through IMPD, causing
the elder Guy to turn his weapons, including guns, knives and ammunition, over to police.
Joseph Guy, 18, at one point claimed to be running for Mayor of Shelbyville,
but his interests outside of this are wide ranging.
Joseph’s Facebook page links to a magazine of which he claims to be publisher.
The content is solely photos of bikini-clad women.
His Twitter account, happyperson55, has no tweets.
On another Web site, Joseph noted he may appear on ‘America’s Got Talent.’
He’s also a self-published children’s author. His book, One Child’s Cry for Hope, is dedicated to his late sister, Sarah
In early 2011, Joseph was arrested for stalking. Police also found a gun, ammunition and zip ties in his car.
Police didn’t say what they found inside of the Guy house when it was searched
Friday, but family members told 24-Hour News 8 that the conditions
inside led them to believe the family is in danger.

24-Hour News 8 has uncovered new information about charges against
18-year-old Joseph Guy, one of the four missing Shelbyville family
members. The others are Joseph’s parents, Robert and Debra Guy, both 52,
and Zachary Guy, 2, their adopted son. The family went missing May 3.
Joseph Guy faces six charges for stalking a male co-worker, a security guard, in late 2010.
Court documents show Joseph claimed to be an FBI agent to speak to the guard.
The documents also note that Joseph followed the guard’s family around
their gym. It’s even reported that Joseph followed the guard with a
rifle, binoculars and zip ties in his car. But Joseph made allegations of his own
against this guard in February 2011. Joseph reported to Shelbyville police that the guard was stalking
him. According to court records, Joseph claimed the guard tried to beat
him. He also said the guard left letters on his car. However, police later determined
the guard did not write the letters, though police did not disclose who did write the letters. “I
want to just kill you and then dismember your body,” one of the letters
reads. “I may just bury you in my driveway, so I can be reminded of the
thrill I felt when I killed you.” Another reads, “[I] want to
kill you so bad, because you will never accept me in your life. Your
payday is coming soon. I know where you live and I will get you.” When the
security company Joseph and the guard worked for investigated this claim,
they fired Joseph. Joseph’s charge against the guard was dropped when Joseph didn’t attend a court
hearing; Joseph was sitting in the Marion County Jail at the time. But
Joseph bonded out of jail and was on home detention with an ankle
monitor. That ankle monitor, police reports said, was found during a
search of the family's home after they went missing. Joseph is due in court May 24 to face those stalking charges.

Missing Shelbyville Teen Jailed In Florida; Family Safe


Family Pulled Over On I-75 In Florida

SHELBYVILLE, Ind. -- A Shelbyville teen who had been missing for two weeks was being held in a Florida jail after he and his family were found safe early Wednesday, police said.
Officials at the Hamilton County Jail in Jasper, Fla., in the northern part of the state, confirmed that Joseph Guy, 18, was being held there but was not facing any local charges.
Guy and his parents, Robert and Debra Guy, both 52, and brother Zachary Guy, 2, were last seen on May 3 at their home in the 700 block of Fifth Street.
The Florida Highway Patrol said the family's vehicle was spotted on northbound Interstate 75 just after 8 a.m. Wednesday. According to the arrest report, Robert Guy was driving the car and Joseph Guy was in the front passenger seat.
Shelbyville police said detectives were able to locate the family by tracking a prepaid cellphone they bought after they left Indiana. They alerted Florida authorities to be on the lookout for the family's vehicle.
Police began searching for the family last week. Witnesses told investigators that the family appeared to have loaded their belongings into two vehicles and left their home.

Joseph Guy was scheduled to appear in court on stalking charges later this month and a warrant was issued for his arrest. He will also be charged with escape because he was on home detention at the time, police said.

Shelby County Community Corrections Director Tom Marendt told 6News' Derrik Thomas he is unclear why officials did not know Joseph Guy was missing. He said he does not believe the teen cut off his ankle bracelet.

"If he tampers with the bracelet, we would know that within five minutes, but the power source is at issue," he said.
