Cops: 13-year-old girl missing from West Side

Chicago police are asking for the public’s help in locating
a 13-year-old West Side girl who disappeared this week after telling
her family she was heading for a nearby store.
The family of Ronnetta Armstrong, of the 1700 block of North Mayfield
Avenue, also is appealing for the public’s help in finding her.
Ronnetta told family members she was going to a store at North and
Austin avenues about 4 p.m. on Tuesday, according to a family spokeswoman.
When Ronnetta did not come home, her grandmother reported her missing, police said.
Ronnetta may be in the area of Jackson Boulevard and Western Avenue, according
to an alert issued by Grand Central Area detectives today.
Ronnetta, a 6th-grade student at Lovett Elementary School,
6333 W. Bloomindale Ave., is black, with a medium complexion, according
to her family. She stands 5-foot-3, weighs 150 pounds and has black hair, according to police.
When last seen, she was wearing a checkered brown hat, pink shirt, pink shorts and black flip-flop shoes.
“The family has combed the neighborhood where she lives as well as
her former community to no avail,” said Barbara Kensey, a family spokeswoman, in an email.

UPDATE: Chicago police said late Sunday night that Ronnetta Armstrong had been located. No further information was released.
