Casey Anthony: How is Judge Belvin Perry holding up?

How stressful could the Casey Anthony case be on Chief Judge Belvin Perry?
“He seems at his wit’s end now,” WESH-Channel 2 anchor Syan Rhodes said this morning after the judge lashed out at the defense and prosecution. The judge complained the two sides couldn’t even agree on the time.
Former Judge O.H. Eaton Jr., who is WESH’s legal analyst, said Perry is doing what he can. “There is only so much you can do,” Eaton said. “You can’t just say, ‘We’re going to start the trial all over again and you’re going to behave.’ That isn’t going to happen.”
Perry has a frank, folksy style that has enlivened the trial. He has tried, in my estimation, to be fair to both sides. What do you think?
Eaton listed the pressures on the judge: the long trial, the sequestered jury, the capital murder trial and the circumstantial evidence. Anthony is charged with first-degree murder in the death of her daughter, Caylee.
“I never had a case this bad,” Eaton said. “He’s doing what he can do, and I think he’s doing it very well.”
WFTV-Channel 9 legal analyst Bill Sheaffer said of Perry: “This judge is going to stick to his word and he’s going to work as hard and as long … because he’s going to get this to the jury as quickly as he can without violating Casey Anthony’s right to a fair trial.”
WOFL-Channel 35 legal analsyt Diana Tennis said: “The judge is really, really, really frustrated but he knows there’s only so much he can do to punish Jose Baez.” She said she believes that Perry agrees with Baez “to the extent that is it unheard of that a prosecutor would not take depositions of all the experts of the defense.” Tennis dismissed prosecutor Jeff Ashton’s excuse about not taking a deposition. “It’s a murder trial. It’s unheard of,” Tennis said.
WFTV’s Sheaffer offered this insight about not taking a deposition: “It may be a strategic move. It may simply be that witness doesn’t have anything you need to depose them about.” Sheaffer said he could find no fault with Ashton for not taking the deposition of Dr. William Rodriguez.
