Police seeking missing Wilsonville mother and child

Woman and child reported to have left rural Lafayette with an unidentified man

The 32-year-old Wilsonville woman went missing June 23 with her 8 year old
daughter Katie Pratt. Police are actively seeking the pair.


Wilsonville Police are actively seeking to locate a Wilsonville woman and
8-year-old child, reported missing since Friday from the small town of
Lafayette southwest of Portland.

According to Clackamas County Sheriff's Office Detective Jim Strovink, Wilsonville resident Paul Castro took his wife, Sayward Pratt, and the couple's daughter, Katie Castro, to Chelsea's Sanctuary, an alternative health care facility
in Lafayette, a small town five miles southwest of Portland. The
Sanctuary is dedicated to the healing practices of the late Raymond
Rife, which use sound resonance as a means of killing disease.

Mother and daughter arrived Friday, June 23, and were scheduled to spend a day-and-a-half at the Sanctuary, Strovink said.

After arriving Saturday, however, Castro was told that both his
wife and daughter had left the Sanctuary earlier in a "big" car, with an
unknown adult male who staff and others believed to be Pratt's husband.


Since then, attempts to contact Pratt on her mobile phone have been
unsuccessful and no information on her whereabouts currently is known.


Strovink said this is not the first time Pratt has gone missing under mysterious circumstances.

"Ms. Pratt did a similar act a little over a year ago too,"
Strovink said in a prepared statement. "On that occasion, getting into a
car with a stranger, and traveled with her daughter to Grants Pass,
Oregon."


In that case, which took place around the Easter Holiday, he added,
Wilsonville Police located Pratt and her daughter by working with
Grants Pass authorities.


At the time it was believed Ms. Pratt was suffering from delusional
thinking, Strovink said, and there was concern she might be suicidal.
Her mental state at present is unknown, but a similar situation could be
unfolding.

Sayward Pratt is 32, stands 5-feet-10 and weighs about 230 pounds.
When last seen she had long wavy brown hair, and blue eyes (See photo at
top). She also wears wire rimmed glasses.


Katie Castro
is an 8-year-old white female roughly 4-feet-1 tall and weighing about
50 pounds. She has straight shoulder length brown hair, and green eyes.

Clackamas County sheriff's deputies say a missing woman and her daughter have been found safe.
Sayward Pratt, 32, and daughter, Katie
Castro, 8, were last seen when they were dropped off at a Lafayette
alternative heath care facility on June 23.
Wilsonville police then asked for the public's help to find the pair.
Earlier today, a woman called Newberg-area
911 and reported she was suffering from chest pains. A dispatcher
recognized her name and, in addition to arranging for her to be taken to
a hospital, arranged for police to meet her there.
Pratt and Castro have since been reunited with family members.
