The Purpose of what we are doing is to make sure that we hold negligent parents accountable for their actions. Had something like Caylee’s law been in place in Florida before this trial started, Casey could have easily gotten another 5-10 years for not reporting Caylee missing. Would that have been full justice served? Absolutely not, but at least she wouldn’t have walked out of jail a free woman today.
I have always been a political activist. The foundations of our country course through my veins and I intend on using my “soap box” to speak up for people who don’t have a voice like Caylee. The fact of the matter is that this isn’t the first time something like this has happened. According to the US department of Justice, 797,500 children younger than the age of 18 were reported missing in a one-year period of time studied resulting in an average of 2,185 children being reported missing each day. Of that ungodly number, 203,900 children were the victims of family abductions.
