ORLANDO, Fla. -- Casey Anthony was released from the Orange County Jail on Sunday after nearly three years behind bars, but one of her attorneys says she needs time to adjust to her new life and no one is going to find her.
. . . .
Now that Anthony is free, Mason said he hopes that Anthony will be free from what he called "Casey World," a place where a mother tells people her dead daughter was kidnapped by a fictional babysitter.
"She's lost that child, and she's got a lot of dealing with and being able to come out of 'Casey World' to be able to confront the reality of what happened on that day and afterward and it took a long time for her to be able to confront that," Mason said.
Mason said he felt there was a breakthrough moment for Anthony during the trial that he thinks changed her life for the better during the testimony of Dr. Sally Karioth, a grief expert. Karioth described how people grieve the death of a child in different ways.
"It was like she was helping bring Casey out of 'Casey World,"' Mason said.
