ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. -- Eyewitness News has learned that Casey Anthony's reaction on December 11 about remains that were found near her home was videotaped. Casey hyperventilated and asked for medication when she was told at jail that Caylee’s remains might have been found down the street from her house. Investigators had asked that her reaction be documented.

There is no information on when the video is expected to be released.

Report: Tape Shows Anthony's Consciousness of Guilt

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Investigators arranged to videotape Casey Anthony's reaction in jail when she learned that a child's remains were found near her family's home, a source told WESH 2 News exclusively on Thursday.Anthony doubled over twice and appeared to hyperventilate, according to the source who has seen the tape.

Investigators said the tape shows Anthony's consciousness of guilt, because it was days before the remains were identified as her daughter Caylee.The remains, which were later identified as Caylee's body, were found by a meter reader in a wooded area off of Suburban Drive near the Anthony family home.

WESH 2 News reporter Bob Kealing reported Thursday that Casey Anthony as purposefully taken to a jail nurse's station in December and seated where she could see breaking news coverage on TV about the child's remains. A video camera documented her reaction, a source said.It was more than a week before the remains were identified as Caylee, who was reported missing last July.

Casey Anthony is charged with first-degree murder in connection with Caylee's death. She is in Orange County Jail on no bond awaiting trial later this year.

The Orange County Sheriffs Office has confirmed that Casey Anthony was secretly videotaped as she learned of the discovery of Caylee's body in a wooded area near her home.

The remains would not be identified as Caylee's for another week, but when Casey Anthony found out on December 11th that they'd been discovered, she doubled over twice, appeared to hyperventilate, and asked for medication, according to discovery documents released earlier this week. Now Deputy Sheriff Carlos Padilla confirms the rumor that Casey's reaction was videotaped.

"There was a concern, obviously, they wanted to make sure she was monitored upon receiving the news," says Padilla. "It's my understanding that there is a videotape. However, that's part of the ongoing investigation."

That means it won't be released until detectives turn it over to the State Attorney's Office, then they decide to let it out. Padilla says he doesn't know who broke the news to Casey, but she was taken to a nurse's station before being informed.

Casey's defense team has responded to the revelation of the videotape. "It's outrageous and cruel that they were standing by to record her emotions," states Baez Law Firm media rep Marti Mackenzie.

"I call this latest a 'tape and release' strategy that the Sheriff's Department has used since Casey was first arrested," continues Mackenzie. "There can be no other motive that I see than it's an attempt to influence viewers and readers following the case that Casey's reactions are not normal for someone who's lost a child."
