State Police in Canandaigua are asking for the public’s help in locating a runaway teen.According to State Police, Bobbi R. Smith, 15, was last seen in Hopewell about 9:30 a.m. Thursday.





She was described as white, 5 feet 7 inches tall, 120 pounds with blue eyes and long blond hair.
State Police said she may be in the company of a 40-year-old white man
who may be operating a 2007 black Dodge Ram 1500 pickup with tinted windows,
mag-style wheels and a hardcover shell over the bed.

State police reported they found the missing teen, Bobbi Smith, near
the Fire House on Vine Street in Naples about 7 p.m. Friday.

Bobbi Smith, last seen in Hopewell, had been missing since Thursday.
Troopers also found Tyler Ferrier and have taken him to State Police
headquarters in Canandaigua for questioning.

The investigation is continuing and charges against Ferrier are pending, police said.

Police said they were worried for the safety of Bobbi Smith, 15, who
was last seen at about 9:30 a.m. on Aug. 4. Police suspected she was
with Tyler S. Ferrier, 40, who was driving a Black 2007 Dodge Ram pickup
truck.

Stanley man charged with rape in case of missing Canandaigua teen

Canandaigua, N.Y. —

A Stanley man has been charged with rape following the case of a
missing Canandaigua teenager who was found by police Friday in Naples.
State police charged Tyler S. Ferrier, 40, of Stanley, Ontario County,
with third-degree rape (a felony); and second-degree unlawful
imprisonment and endangering the welfare of a child (both misdemeanors).
Ferrier was sent to Ontario County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bail.

According to police, in the more than 24 hours that Ferrier and the
15-year-old were missing, they had checked into two different Ontario
County hotel rooms. Ferrier abandoned the first hotel after receiving a
phone call by troopers early in the investigation, after they were told
the girl might be with Ferrier. The police contact prompted Ferrier to
throw his cell phone out of his truck, while driving around the Gorham
area. The investigation is continuing, to ascertain any additional
circumstances regarding Ferrier’s time spent with the girl, while she
was reported missing.

With hours of police releasing an alert on the missing girl, a citizen
reported seeing the suspect’s vehicle and notified authorities.
Troopers from the Wayland and Canandaigua barracks responded to Race
Street, Naples, near the fire hall, and found the girl. Ferrier was
taken into custody and both were transported back to the Canandaigua
barracks, where the girl was reunited with her parents.
