State files response in Casey Anthony probation appeal

The State Attorney General's Office argues in newly filed court papers that Casey Anthony never served probation while she was in jail and should be made to serve that one year of state supervision now.

The AG's document was filed in response to an appeal generated last week by Anthony's defense team. It is being adopted locally by Orange-Osceola State Attorney Lawson Lamar's office.

The AG's response disputes the defense team's contention that Casey Anthony served probation while in jail.

"The court originally imposed probation to be served following her release from incarceration," the AG's response states. "Legally, it is clear that a defendant cannot serve probation while incarcerated."
