Casey Anthony: ‘Dr. Phil’ interview is absurd exploitation, Drew Kesse says

How bad was George and Cindy Anthony’s interview with Dr. Phil McGraw?

Absurd, said Drew Kesse, the father of missing Jennifer Kesse. He blasted the Anthonys in interviews on HLN’s “Nancy Grace” last night and WOFL-Channel 35 news this morning.

“They’re just not upfront people,” Kesse told WOFL’s Amy Kaufeldt. “They are truly exploiting their granddaughter.”

Kesse complained that the Anthonys take away from stories about people who are missing, something toddler Caylee never was.

Casey Anthony, the daughter of George and Anthony, was acquitted this summer in the 2008 death of Caylee. But Kesse aimed his fire at George and Cindy.

“It’s a circus. They get paid for what they do. They won’t give local interviews, because there’s no money,” Kesse told WOFL. “This is absolutely absurd.”

The interview continues at 3 p.m. today on WOFL. A third part will air at 3 p.m. Monday.

Kesse derided the family’s excuses, Cindy’s lies on the stand and George’s suicide attempt. Kesse zeroed in on the family’s new foundation, under which the Anthonys can have meals, trips, lawyers and body guards. Those costs will be listed as business expenses, Kesse siad.

“It’s kind of the old switch and bait. Don’t be fooled. Educate yourself, folks,” Kesse warned viewers.

On “Nancy Grace,””Kesse complained the “Dr. Phil” chat was “a powder-puff interview” featuring lies told with lies. Kesse said he was angry about “the money trail that Dr. Phil is putting into their foundation, that I feel is fraudulent.”

The amount of the donation that McGraw’s production company is making to the foundation hasn’t been disclosed.
