Casey Anthony: another victory, another mystery HAL

“Casey Anthony scored another court victory,” WFTV-Channel 9 anchor Bob Opsahl said tonight. “A judge ruled Casey’s videotaped deposition in the Zenaida Gonzalez civil suit will remain sealed.”

But there’s a new issue: What does Casey look like these days?

WESH-Channel 2’s Bob Kealing reported, “Attorneys for the plaintive Zenaida Gonzalez said it appeared Anthony was wearing a disguise and may even have had plastic surgery to further change her appearance.”

WFTV’s Opsahl: “Gonzalez’s lawyers wanted it [the videotape] released to the public. They say Casey wore a wig, a baseball hat and oversize sunglasses to alter her appearance, so releasing it would not put her at risk.”

The judge, however, cited risks to Anthony’s safety in keeping the tape sealed.

Gonzalez is suing for defamation, alleging that Anthony ruined her life by linking her to CayleeAnthony’s disappearance. In July, Casey Anthony was acquitted of murder in the 2008 death of her daughter. Anthony is somewhere in Florida serving a year’s probation for check fraud.

A transcript of the deposition was released, but Anthony refused to answer most questions. WESH highlighted that Anthony said she had not spoken to her mother, Cindy Anthony, since 2008 or to her brother, Lee, for six months. WFTV said that Casey Anthony said she had not talked to her parents for three years and had no contact with her brother in six months.
