SORRENTO, Maine — Police in Maine are searching for two missing teenage girls.

State police are seeking the public’s help in locating 14-year-old Hanna Snider of Sorrento.

Police say Snider left her home Saturday night and was discovered
missing by her parents Sunday morning. She sent a text message saying
she was OK. Police say she may have had a face-to-face meeting with
someone she met on an Internet dating site.

She is described as 5-foot-6, 170 pounds with dirty blonde hair and brown eyes.

Police are also looking for a 17-year old Bar Harbor girl whose last confirmed sighting was Oct. 24.
Police tell the Bangor Daily News that Amethyst Geiger is about
5-foot-2 and weighs 115 pounds with brown hair. She may have a backpack
and sleeping bag with her.

SORRENTO, Maine — Police in Hancock County are looking for two girls
who have gone missing in recent days in apparently separate incidents.

One girl, missing 14-year old Hanna Snider, has been missing since
Saturday, according to Maine Department of Public Safety Spokesman
Stephen McCausland.

McCausland said Monday that Snider may have left home with a man she met on the website myyearbook.com,
which he described as an online dating site. She left her home sometime
Saturday night and her parents realized she was gone the next morning.
She sent her parents a text message on Sunday to tell them she was OK
and would be home later, McCausland said.

Snider is described as 5 feet, 6 inches tall and weighs approximately
170 pounds. She has brown eyes and dirty blonde hair with a touch of
red.

Information posted by the Ellsworth Police Department on its Facebook page indicates that Snider last was seen wearing jeans and a winter jacket with a furry hood.

Anyone with information about where Snider might be is asked to call Maine State Police at 866-2122.

State police said a 14-year-old girl, missing
since Saturday night, Oct. 29, was found safe Tuesday afternoon, Nov. 1
at a home in Thomaston.

According to a news release from the Department of Public Safety,
Hanna Snider of Sorrento had been the object of a search that went
national Tuesday morning.

She was tracked down to the Thomaston location at approximately 3:20
p.m. Tuesday using technology tracking her computer use. Agencies
working on the case included the state police computer crimes unit, the
Federal Bureau of Investigation and the U.S. Secret Service.

Her parents were notified by Maine State Police, and detectives transported her to meet them.

Police said she was in the company of her 16-year-old boyfriend, who
was being questioned. Police believe the boy drove to Sorrento Saturday
night to pick her up.

Earlier in the search, state police said the teen may have met up
with someone she met on the online dating site myyearbook.com. Snider,
who is a student at Sumner Memorial High School, had not been heard from
since she sent a text message to one of her parents on Sunday.
