MESA, Ariz. -- Mesa police are asking for the public's help to find a missing 14-year-old boy.

Alejandro Rivera III left his foster parents' home near Baseline and
Signal Butte roads at approximately 6 a.m. Monday and did not return.

Sgt. Ed Wessing said it is not unusual for the teen to be late coming
home, but once he was later than normal his foster parents contacted police.

Alejandro may be going back to Phoenix where he is from and where his biological mother lives, according to Wessing.

Alejandro is described as Hispanic with black hair, 5 feet tall and 100
pounds. He was last seen wearing a gray sweatshirt with blackish-gray
jeans, white DC brand tennis shoes and a gray/green camouflage backpack.

The juvenile is legally blind and uses a walking stick for assistance but can function on his own.
