A toddler was reported missing from an apartment complex on Howard Lane in Anderson today, a police spokesman said.

Kayla Brewster, who is almost 2 years old, was believed to be wearing a T-shirt and Dora the Explorer pajamas with possibly one shoe, said Anderson Lt. Tony Tilley.

The child was last seen shortly before 4 a.m., he said. She and her father left an apartment on foot, Tilley said.

Police are canvassing the neighborhood, going door to door at the apartment complex, he said.

A technical rescue team was called to the area, Tilley said.

Police searching for 2-year-old, father


ANDERSON, SC (WYFF) - Police and deputies in the Upstate were searching for a missing 2-year-old early Thursday morning after her father took the child during an argument with the girl's mother.

Kayla Brewster, 2, was reported missing about 4:00 a.m. from the Belton Woods Apartments, at 110 Howard Ln. in Anderson. Brewster's mother and father, Frantavious Pullman, got into an argument, and the father took the child and left on foot, Anderson Police Sgt. Tony Tilley said.

More than a dozen officers, deputies and firefighters were searching a mile radius around the apartments and going door-to-door asking if anyone had seen the man or the child.

The child was last seen wearing a pink shirt and Dora The Explorer pajama pants, according to dispatchers.

Temperatures in the Anderson area dropped below freezing overnight, with the low at 6:30 a.m. reported at 30 degrees.

Anderson Police say a missing young child was found safe, but are clarifying information from Thursday morning’s search.

Officers searched for the child door-to-door at Belton Woods
Apartments on Howard Lane after the two-year old girl was reported
missing around 4:00 a.m.

Anderson Police said originally that the child was taken by her father, Frantavious Pullman, but Lt. Tony Tilley now says the young girl was with her aunt.

Pullman’s sister brought the child to Anderson police. She’s being interviewed by detectives.

APD also says they arrested Frantavious Pullman, but now say they are
searching for him. APD has an active warrant for Pullman for criminal
domestic violence. More charges are possible.

Anyone who knows where Frantavious Pullman can be found is asked to call Crimestoppers at (888) CRIME-SC.

The arrest warrant for Pullman for criminal domestic states he struck
the victim several times in the face with a closed fist and then he
choked her with his hands "causing her to fear for her life." The
warrant says Pullman had a knife.

He does live with mother, according to warrant.

Anderson Police are checking documents in New York to try and determine the custody of the young girl.
