HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Houston police are looking for a man charged with capital murder in the death of a four-year-old boy.

Michael Allen Seaton, 21, is accused of beating four-year-old Dustyn Skylar Hoff to death on Friday.

The child was still alive when his mother -- Seaton's girlfriend, 23-year-old Britni Glover -- called 9-1-1 from her apartment on Hillcroft.

Paramedics rushed the little boy to the hospital where he later died.

Glover was arrested Sunday and charged with injury to a child causing severe bodily injury. She remains in jail on a $100,000 bond.

Now, the search is on for Seaton.

Lee County prosecutors confirmed that Seaton is on probation for injury to a child in an unrelated case there, so this would be Seaton's second child abuse charge. The Lee County case was in 2009 and he received five years probation, authorities said.



Dustyn's injuries were from what police called ongoing abuse, but his exact cause of death is still undetermined.

Seaton is not the child's father, officials said.

There are questions surrounding the death of a four-year-old Houston boy. His mother is in jail while detectives search for her boyfriend.


Dustyn Skyler Roff died Friday. Investigators believe he was the victim of continuous physical abuse.



Police arrested the boy's mother -- Britni Glover -- and charged her with injury to a child. Now, they want to talk to her boyfriend.

Dustyn was found Friday at his mother's apartment in the 7000 block of Hillcroft. According to Houston police, the child was alive when emergency workers arrived, but he died later that day.

Homicide investigators say the child was found by his mother. An exact cause of death has not yet been determined.

Glover's boyfriend has not been charged, but he is wanted for questioning in Dustyn's death. Authorities are not yet releasing his name.

The child's father does not live at the apartment. He declined our request for an interview Sunday night, saying he was too distraught.

An autopsy will be performed to determine how Dustyn died.

Glover's bond has been set at $10,000.

I'm glad they arrested the mother. In these types of cases, far too often the mother is not charged even though she knew of the abuse, failed to report it and frequently participated in it.

A boy, who was beaten to death, was covered in more than 100 bruises and had two black eyes when he was found.


Dustyn Skyler Roff, four, was allegedly killed at his mother's apartment by her boyfriend, 21-year-old Michael Allen Seaton.


Seaton has been charged with murder over the death of the child in Houston, Texas on December 15.

The mother Britni Glover, 23, told authorities that she allowed her boyfriend to look after her son while he went to work. She said Seaton had told her that Dustyn got the black eyes from 'a fall'.

According to reports filed at the Harris County District Attorney's Office, the child had two black eyes, a cut on his chin and bruises all over his body.
There was also severe damage to his internal organs. His cause of death was found to be blunt-force trauma.

The bruises were at different healing stages, showing that the young boy had been beaten viciously over a number of weeks.

On the night of December 15, the mother returned from work and witnessed Seaton punching and kicking her child.

Later, after the boyfriend had left her home, she said Dustyn complained of a sore stomach and collapsed.

At 5am the following morning, she discovered her son unconscious and not breathing so she called emergency services. Dustyn was pronounced death at the scene.

Glover has also been charged with injury to her child, serious bodily injury, and for not protecting him from Seaton.

According to Dustyn's father Charles Blake Roff, his estranged wife had taken the boy during a visit and he had been trying to locate his son's whereabouts for four months.

At a news conference yesterday, the 25-year-old said he was the boy's sole caretaker until that time and was working on gaining full legal custody of him, according to chron.com.

The couple are in the middle of a divorce and had not yet worked out custody rights for their son.

Prior to the child's death, reports had been filed with Child Protection Services for neglect and possible physical abuse.

I am having trouble coping sometimes with the evil depravity of the inhumane people who have children and/or are allowed to be around them, regardless of the suffering the poor child will endure.

I am so glad to see the mother is being charged with capital murder. According to the following snippets from the above articles, she was fully aware of the torture and abuse of this poor child. He suffered a horrendous death from these monsters with broken bones and over 100 bruises. I hope these murderers get life in prison:

This is made even more heartbreaking by the fact that he had a father who loved him and would have taken care of him.

Obviously the POS mother didn't want him, she used him to hurt her ex. And... she allowed the current POS to torture and murder him.

It pleases me when a POS mother is charged when she allows this to happen.

Someone should beat them to death in the pen.

Even after she saw him beating this poor baby to death she didn't bother to call 911. She waited until he was dead.

I just looked up the status of this case in the Harris County's public criminal court records and it looks like Britni Glover (a stripper at the time she was letting her boyfriend beat him to death) is still in jail and will be tried for capital murder on February 4, 2014.
Michael Allen Seaton is still in jail and scheduled to be tried for capital murder in the case on February 4, 2014, as well.
