The girls name is Taylor Vo. She's 11-years-old and described as Asian, 5'3" and 105 pounds.

Police say the man who took her is 42-year-old Tri Le. He's described as Asian, 5'6" 170 pounds. He's the ex-boyfriend of the child's mother and was said to have fired shots at the home this morning when he took the child. Authorities say he's likely driving a dark minivan with an unknown license plate and considered armed and dangerous.

Missing San Jose Girl Triggers Amber Alert

(NBC San Diego) A statewide Amber Alert was issued at 1:18 a.m. Friday for missing San Jose girl Taylor Vo. Vo, 11, was abducted by Tri Le, who was last seen wearing a black baseball cap, a black jacket and blue jeans, according to authorities.

Police say "the suspect entered his ex-girlfriend's residence on Taffy Court San Jose, CA, and fired off a couple of rounds from an unknown type firearm. The suspect took the child and fled the scene."

Le is described as a 42-year-old Asian male, who is is 5' 6", 170 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He is considered armed and dangerous.

Vo is described as an Asian female, who is 5' 3" and weighs about 105 pounds. She has black hair and brown eyes.

Le was last seen driving a dark minivan with an unknown license plate. Anyone with information is asked to call the San Jose Police Department at 408-277-8911.

Kidnapped Girl Found Alive, Suspect Shot Dead

An Amber Alert was issued Friday morning for a missing 11-year-old girl.

Taylor Vo was allegedly abducted by Tri Le Friday morning at 1:18. After an extensive search both Vo and Le were found at a nearby apartment where Le was holding a knife to the girl's head, according to authorities.

When Le saw officers arrive, he reportedly began firing at them, authorities said. Officers shot the suspect and the girl was recovered alive, according to authorities but they did not release her condition.

Vo's uncle, Kevin Nguyen, said earlier in the day that he had hoped its a good sign that the gun the man used to kidnap his 11-year-old niece was loaded with blanks.

To him it was a sign that maybe Le was trying to scare the family and get back at his ex-girlfriend and that perhaps his niece would return home unharmed. yen told NBC Bay Area's Bob Redell that Le stormed the house, put a gun to his father's head and demanded to see Nguyen's sister, who is Le's ex-girlfriend.

Le allegedly took her daughter instead since she wasn't home. Police say that at one point, Le fired the gun inside the house.

Nguyen was not able to find any bullet holes in the home.

Nguyen says his sister broke up with Le about two months ago but might have gotten into a fight in the hours leading up to the kidnapping.

He described Le as being a mysterious man. So much so that he didn't even know his last name until police released it Friday morning.

Le is described as an Asian male, who is is 5 feet, 6 inches tall and weighs about 170 pounds. Authorities said he was considered armed and dangerous.

SAN JOSE, Calif. -- San Jose police say a man who was killed by a SWAT team after kidnapping
his ex-girlfriend's daughter sexually assaulted the girl during Friday's Amber Alert.Authorities issued a statewide Amber Alert after 42-year-old Tri Truong Le took the 11-year-old girl from her home at
gunpoint Friday.

At 1 a.m., Le stormed into the house, assaulted a family member, entered the girl's bedroom and kidnapped her.

Le had physically abused the girl's mother while they were dating and her mom had recently ended their relationship.

The woman that Le dated before meeting the kidnapped girl's mother had a restraining order against him after he choked and threatened to kill her.

Le and the girl disappeared for 11 hours Friday before police tracked them to his San Jose house.

As SWAT police officers surrounded Le, he fired back blank bullets with a fake gun that was made to look
like a 9mm Beretta pistol.SWAT team member Mauricio Jimenez fired two rounds at Le, killing the kidnapper, San Jose police Sgt. Jason Dwyer said.

"The first round struck the suspect in the left arm. The suspect then used the 11-year-old victim as a human shield," Dwyer said.Le had the girl wrapped in a cross hold, and police believed he was firing a real gun.

"This required officer Jimenez to make a precision shot on the suspect without hitting the hostage. Jimenez was able to shoot the suspect (in the head), which then enabled officers to rescue the victim," Dwyer said.

The shootout happened in a narrow stairwell inside Le's home.

Thank God the little girl is fine and I couldn't agree with you more. Mothers need to treat their children like treasures instead of bothers.
