"Baby John" METCALF - 14 Months - Madison Cty/ Greensboro NC

Madison County deputies say a mother beat her 14-month-old son, broke his elbow, and failed to get help for him.
They've charged Ashley Metcalf with felony child abuse inflicting serious injury.
Deputies arrested Metcalf this morning at her home in the Bee Tree Community.
They say February 14th, she caught the little boy eating dog food, so she jerked him off the floor by his arm and gave him what they call an "excessive spanking."
They say she gave the child a hairline fracture in his elbow that became infected over a two-day period.
When she took the child to the hospital, the child needed surgery.
Doctors called D.S.S., and social services workers called deputies.
She's in jail under $50,000 bond.Madison County Child Abuse Charges
