Twins "Jane and Joan" THOMAS-LISBON - 11 Months - Egg Harbor/ Atlantic City NJ
EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP – An Egg Harbor Township woman and a Brigantine
man have been arrested and charged with endangering the welfare of a
child and child neglect after their twin girls were brought to the
hospital with injuries.
Adriana Thomas, 23, Egg Harbor Township, and Lamar Lisbon, 28, of
Brigantine were arrested by township police and the Atlantic County
Prosecutor's Office after both of their 11-month-old twin daughters were
brought to the hospital on Saturday, March 10 with injuries.
Township police responded to the AtlantiCare Regional Medical
Center’s City Division in the early morning hours after the Atlantic
City Police Department was notified by medical staff at the hospital of
suspicious injuries sustained to the girls who were brought in to the
hospital.
The infants both had sustained unexplained severe injuries, police said.
One infant was immediately flown from the AtlantiCare to Cooper
Hospital in Camden for life-threatening injuries that included a
traumatic head injury, fractured arm and multiple bruises and
abrasions. The other infant was also transported to Cooper, but was
able to travel by ambulance with only moderate injuries that included
multiple bruises, abrasions and an unspecified neck injury.
Neither Thomas nor Lisbon would provide information on the circumstances of the injuries, police said.
Upon further investigation through joint efforts of the Egg Harbor
Township Police Department, the Atlantic County Prosecutors Office, New
Jersey Division of Youth and Family Services and various medical
facilities, arrests were made implicating Thomas and Lisbon for direct
involvement in the reported incident and both were criminally charged
with two counts of second-degree endangering the welfare of a child and
two counts of fourth-degree child neglect.
Thomas and Lisbon are lodged at the Gerald L. Gormley Justice
Facility in Mays Landing on $75,000 and $150,000 cash bail respectively.
