Manchester man charged in death of infant son
Monday, April 09, 2012
John D. Moore
A 27-year-old Manchester man is being held in Adams County Jail following the death of his five-month-old son at Children's Hospital in Cincinnati on Friday.
John D. Moore was arraigned in Adams County Court today and officially charged with endangering children, a felony of the third degree. However, the investigation is ongoing and further charges may be filed in this case, according to Chief Deputy Jeff McCarty of the Adams County Sheriff's Office.
On Wednesday, April 4, at 5:44 p.m., the Adams County 911 Center received a call for difficulty in breathing at 900 Cemetery Street, Apartment 34 in Manchester. An ambulance from the Manchester Fire Department was dispatched to the scene.
Upon arrival EMS personnel discovered the 5-month-old infant in respiratory distress. The infant was identified as Carson Johnathon Moore. The ambulance rushed him to Meadowview Regional Hospital. He was later flown to Children's Hospital in Cincinnati with life-threatening injuries. The Sheriff's Office was notified of the incident and the injuries.
The Manchester Police and Adams County Sheriff's Office responded to the scene for investigation. While gathering facts, law enforcement officials determined the incident was suspicious in nature. The Adams County Prosecutor's Office was contacted, and a search warrant for the apartment was obtained. An Ohio BCI&I Crime Scene Unit processed the scene for evidence.
Carson died at Children's Hospital on Friday, April 6 at approximately 2:20 pm.
Moore was arrested Friday on a warrant for child endangering. He was transported to the Hamilton County Justice Center and later transported to the Adams County Jail.
A preliminary hearing in the case is scheduled for April 16.

Thank you masonmomma for bringing this story back to the front. What did the father do to this infant that killed him? I haven't seen any details except that the baby had bruising. How can someone beat a tiny baby enough to kill him?

I read this the other day and wanted to find out what happened to the POS. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to find anything really. I hate reading these stories from even a few years ago and there are no updates to be found anywhere! At least now I've joined and when I do find anything new I can post it
