NEWBORN "ROSS" (Mother 17 yo Christin Ross)- Nevada MO
Police are searching for a 17-year-old Nevada girl who was nine months pregnant when she was last seen Monday.
According to Officer Lukas Gibson, of the Nevada Police Department, Christin I.
Ross, was last seen by her roommate when Ross said she was walking to a
nearby store to meet a cousin she was intending to visit for a couple of
days. Gibson said police learned Ross does not actually have a cousin in the area.
Gibson said several friends and relatives received what he called a rambling
text message from Ross indicating that she may have given birth to a child that was not alive.
“The message said ‘rest in peace’ and then there were suicidal comments,” Gibson said.
Gibson said it is unknown if Ross actually sent the text message.
“We don’t know if she’s given birth,” he said. “We don’t know if she’s okay; we don’t know if the child’s okay.”
Gibson said Ross, who does not live with her parents, does not have a history
of running away and had “no reason to hide.” He added that Ross normally
keeps in contact with her three sisters and that none of the sisters have heard from her.
“She hasn’t kept in touch with them at all,” Gibson said.
Gibson said police have interviewed the father of Ross’s child and that he has
not been ruled out as a suspect. He said police also interviewed a
boyfriend in Pleasant Hill and are still interested in him.
Police are working with the National Center for Missing & Exploited
Children in an attempt to find Ross. Anyone with information can call
the center at 1-800-843-5678 or the Nevada Police Department at 417-448-2710.
“We’re just trying to get her and the child safely home,” Gibson said.

Missing Teen Found, Baby Missing:
-
A teenager who was full term pregnant when she went missing from Nevada last Monday has been taken into custody in Pleasant Hill.
Nevada police officer Lukas Gibson says Christin I. Ross will not tell investigator's what happened to her baby.
When Ross left her home last week she told her roommate that she was walking to a store to meet a cousin who she was going to visit for a few days. Authorities say they have learned that Ross does not have a cousin who lives in the area.
Friends and relatives of the missing girl told investigator's that they received a rambling text message from Ross indicating that she may have given birth to a child that had died. “The message said ‘rest in peace’ and then there were suicidal comments,” Gibson said.
"The case has moved from a missing person's investigation into a criminal investigation."

Nevada, MO) -- Prosecutors are trying to determine if charges will be filed in the case of a missing pregnant teen.
Authorities had been searching for a nine month pregnant teen. They found her safe on Sunday but she was no longer pregnant.
Police located the 17-year-old in Cass county six days after she was last seen in Nevada.
Pleasant Hill Police and Nevada Police are now trying to determine what happened to the baby and if the teen was possibly lying about being pregnant.
No charges have been filed but the Cass County prosecutors have requested a follow-up investigation.

Police say Nevada teenager faked pregnancy
5:21 AM, Apr. 26, 2012
There was never a baby.
A Nevada teenager believed to be nine months pregnant went missing last week, sparking concerns for the health of her child because police say friends and family received disconcerting messages. On Sunday, the girl, 17, was found — in good health and not pregnant.
Her baby, however, was nowhere to be seen.
Police say the girl eventually admitted faking the pregnancy for nine months.
The girl, who went missing April 16 and was found April 22, first allegedly refused to cooperate with police. Then, police say she made her admission and consented to a physical exam.
“After a review of that medical evaluation and examination, we are confident that there is no reason to continue an investigation,” a news release from police said.
According to an earlier news release from Pleasant Hill police, who worked jointly on the investigation with Nevada police, the girl’s parents reported her missing April 19. Her parents told police that they had received text messages saying she was in the hospital and that the baby did not have a heartbeat.
The teen had last been seen by her roommate walking to a nearby store to meet a cousin she was intending to visit for a couple of days, Lukas Gibson with the Nevada Police Department said. Gibson said police later learned that the girl, who was not living with her parents, does not actually have a cousin in the area.

Gibson said it was unknown if the girl actually sent the text message.
Police found the teen as she was arriving at her parents’ residence.
