GEORGE ROGEL - 2 yo/ BOLO for Juan Garcia - Phoenix AZ
A mother from Phoenix has been booked on suspicion of child abuse in the death of her 2-year-old son, and police are searching for her boyfriend, who they said slammed the boy's head into a wall, killing him.
Police say 18-year-old Wendy Rogel-Pagas was booked in the death of her son, George Rogel.
The child suffered trauma to his head and body and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators say they were called to the scene Friday night by the mother -- after her son stopped breathing.
Police say they are searching for Rogel-Pagas' boyfriend, 18-year-old Juan Garcia, because he beat his girlfriend's boy to death, and they are asking for the public’s help in finding him.
Phoenix police called it a horrific case of child abuse. They said Garcia beat the 2-year-old because he wouldn't come out of his room to eat dinner.
“When we would come home from school, he would yell at the little boy, ‘Go inside. Go inside,’” said neighbor Cecily Cerventez.
Cerventez said it was about 10 p.m. when she woke up to the sight of police cars and fire trucks surrounding the house on the corner.
“It is absolutely a brutal, brutal homicide of this young boy that took place last night ... somewhere between 7 and 7:30 -- that we believe that this child was beaten by his mother's live-in boyfriend,” said Phoenix police Sgt. Trent Crump.
Police said Garcia dragged the toddler down the hall by his ears, and when the toddler screamed, he picked him up and slammed his head into a wall.
“We believe about an hour and a half later, when the suspect returned and could not get the child to respond to any of his tactics in this particular case -- which include picking him up and dropping him on the floor -- the mother then called 911,” Crump said.
The boy's mother didn't tell police why she waited so long to call for help.
“I wish we would have known something. I wish there was something we could have seen,” said neighbor Alicia Florres.
Neighbors said they were hopeful Garcia would be caught. Police believe he may have fled in his girlfriend’s car.
They are looking for a 2005 gray Nissan Altima with AZ plate number ANJ 3755.
Police believe Garcia moved in with his girlfriend just a few days ago, and neighbors confirmed that the mother had only been living there for a few weeks.

What a violent monster. I hope they catch him soon and slam his freakin head into a steel wall. Another POS mother taking in a violent abuser. When is this ever going to stop.
The last few articles I've read on the forum indicated a lot of men slamming babies' heads in the wall. What in the world do they think is going to happen when do something so violent to a small child? Lock them up and throw away the key as Tom would say.

Another POS boyfriend. Another POS mother. Another dead baby.
These baby killers know how strong they are. They know how helpless the babies are. They also seem to know the mothers will stand by them and allow them to abuse and murder her children.
What can these POSs be thinking?
I hope when he is in prison that he is beaten severely every day and eventually beaten to death.
Rot in hell you monster.

The lawyer for a Phoenix mother indicted in
connection with the beating death of her 2-year-old son maintains she
was a victim too.
Wendy Rogel-Pagasa, 18, was indicted by a grand jury Mar. 5 after her
son, Jorge Zamora-Rogel, died on Feb. 24, according to Jerry Cobb,
spokesman for the Maricopa County Attorney's Office.
Rogel-Pagasa pleaded not guilty to charges of second-degree murder
and child abuse, according to her attorney Tim Linnins.
Linnins claims Rogel-Pagasa's boyfriend, Juan Garcia, abused and threatened her
so she wouldn't make any phone calls.
"There were two victims that day," Linnins said. "The mother who lost her son and her son."
Garcia was also indicted on charges of first degree murder, child
abuse, aggravated assault and misdemeanor assault Mar. 5 by a grand
jury, according to Cobb. Police continue to search for Garcia.
Garcia is accused of beating Jorge because he wouldn't eat dinner,
and police suspect Rogel-Pagasa waited three hours in her home in the
2500 block of North 38th Lane in Phoenix before calling 911, according
to Maricopa County Superior Court documents released Feb. 26.
Linnins claims his client didn't make any calls because she had been
beaten and Garcia told her to stay put. Garcia was suspected of taking
Rogel-Pagasa's phones with him when he left.
The incident began when Garcia went home around 7:30 p.m. with
dinner, according to court documents. Rogel-Pagasa told Garcia that the
child would not eat the food.
Garcia got angry and went to the child. Police suspect he grabbed the
boy by the ear and pulled him out of his bedroom, according to the documents.
The child began to cry. Police suspect this made Garcia more angry,
causing him to yell at the child and pick him up by the throat,
according to the documents.
Garcia was suspected of hitting the child's head several times
against the wall and the ground knocking Jorge unconscious, according to
the documents.
Rogel-Pagasa said she tried to stop Garcia, who was suspected of
beating and choking her, according to the documents.
Garcia left the residence for an hour and a half. Rogel-Pagasa didn't
call the authorities for help while the child was bleeding and
struggling to breath, according to the documents.
Linnins claims Garcia told Rogel-Pagasa he had people watching the
house. She could hear people going in and out of the house while Garcia
was gone and she tried to take care of her son in the bedroom.
When Garcia returned, he tried to revive the child, according to the
documents. About 10:45 p.m., Rogel-Pagasa called 911. Units responded
within minutes. Jorge was pronounced dead around 11 p.m. at the scene.
Garcia was described as 5 feet 8 inches tall, 170 pounds. He was
possibly driving a gray 2005 Nissan Altima with Arizona License plate ANJ3755.
Rogel-Pagasa's next court date is April 30.

I don't feel sorry for this POS mother. If she was being abused by the baby killer, then she should have left and never put her son in harm's way. I think it's just a story to get out of charges. I hope she serves a good long stretch in jail too. That poor baby suffered greatly before he died and there's no telling how many other times he was beaten. RIP George.

JORGE ZAMORA-ROGEL - 2 yo/ Accused: Juan Garcia - Phoenix AZ
The 18-year-old man police suspect of beating to death a 2-year-old
boy in Phoenix earlier this year because the toddler wouldn't eat dinner
has turned himself into authorities, police said early Saturday.
Juan Garcia was being held at the Pima County Detention Center
awaiting transfer to Phoenix on Saturday after he turned himself into
immigration enforcement agents Friday evening near the Lukeville border
crossing in southern Arizona, about 150 miles southwest of Tucson, said
Sgt. Trent Crump, a Phoenix police spokesman.
Garcia will be charged with first-degree murder, child abuse,
aggravated assault and misdemeanor assault upon returning to Phoenix, Crump said.
Police had been looking for Garcia's whereabouts since Feb. 24 when
officials found the body of 2-year-old Jorge Zamora-Rogel with signs of
trauma to his head and body.
Garcia allegedly became angry that the child wouldn't eat the food he
had brought home for dinner, according to court documents previously
obtained by The Republic.
Garcia -- who was living with the child and his mother, 18-year-old
Wendy Rogel-Pagasa, at a home in the 2500 block of North 38th Lane --
approached the child, grabbed him by the ear and pulled him out of his
bedroom, court documents state.
When the child began to cry, that fueled Garcia's anger, records
show. The suspect then allegedly picked Zamora-Rogel up by the throat
and hit his head against the wall and ground repeatedly, knocking the
toddler unconscious, court records state.
Garcia is also suspected of beating and choking Rogel-Pagasa,
who tried to intervene the beating, according to records.
Garcia left the residence for an hour and a half, yet Rogel-Pagasa
didn't call the authorities while the child bled and struggled to
breathe, documents show.
When Garcia returned back to the residence, he tried reviving the
toddler but it wasn't until another hour and a half did Rogel-Pagasa
call 911, records state.
Zamora-Rogel was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police arrested Rogel-Pagasa on suspicion of waiting about three
hours before calling 911 to help her dying child, according to court documents.
She was indicted by a grand jury on March 5 on charges of
second-degree murder and child abuse. She pleaded not guilty and will go
to jury trial July 11.

Re: JORGE ZAMORA-ROGEL - 2 yo/ Accused: Juan Garcia - Phoenix AZ
Jorge Zamora-Rogel's mother called him "Ivan."
She also called the 2-year-old boy something else: her miracle baby.
Doctors had told her he might not survive his birth because of a
late-term complication. If he did, he stood a high chance of having Down
syndrome. He was born perfectly healthy.
That's what Wendy Rogel-Pagasa, 18, told Phoenix police during an
interrogation about why they found her son dead on her bed on Feb. 24,
according to the police report. They also wanted to know why she didn't
call for an ambulance until more than three hours after Ivan was hurt,
even though she said she'd noticed his "death stare" and struggle to breathe.
Ivan's short life was complicated when Rogel-Pagasa reunited in September 2010
with her boyfriend, Juan Carlos Garcia, also 18.
Ivan was not Garcia's son, and he made sure mother and son knew it, Rogel-Pagasa told police.
That evening in February, Garcia came home from work to the Maryvale
home where the couple had lived for several days. According to her
statement, he told her he had a bag of food for "that fool," Ivan, whom
he called a "piece of s--t."
When he went into Ivan's room, the boy got scared and started to cry.
Garcia dragged him out by the ear, then the neck and then smashed his
head into the wall several times, then held the boy upside-down by his
ankles and began shaking, Ivan's mother told police, according to the report.
After that, Ivan went limp, "like a little puppet," Rogel-Pagasa told
police. She described how frothy blood bubbled out of Ivan's mouth and
how his breaths sounded like rattles. She knew the sound. She recognized
it from the last sounds her dogs made before dying.
She told police how she tried to revive the unconscious Ivan by
waving nail-polish remover under his nose. She tried to reduce the
swelling on a bulging head wound with frozen sausages.
She told police how Garcia became enraged with her. He then choked
her and told her it was the last time she'd defend Ivan, who got what he
deserved for not listening to him. He stormed out.
When Garcia returned 90 minutes later, he apologized and told
Rogel-Pagasa he loved her. Seeing Ivan, he said, "Look at him. He's a
vegetable." Then he cried.
The couple tried to revive Ivan with cold water. Then his breathing stopped. Then his pulse.
Garcia told Rogel-Pagasa to call the police and not to mention him. He left.
When police arrived, Rogel-Pagasa first told them Ivan had fallen out of the bed. Then he tripped as he ran through the hall.
When paramedics arrived, they knew right away the boy was dead.
Fifteen minutes after receiving the emergency call, and after a futile
attempt to resuscitate him, they pronounced Ivan dead.
An autopsy concluded that blows to Ivan's head and torso killed him.
Police arrested Rogel-Pagasa, who pleaded not guilty to charges of
second-degree murder and child abuse. Garcia fled, and then turned
himself in to immigration agents near the Lukeville border crossing
earlier this month. The Maricopa County Attorney's Office has not
charged Garcia, spokesman Jerry Cobb said.
Garcia's relatives told police they hadn't seen Ivan since November
2011 and that he had scratches on his face, but they thought nothing of
it. Some told police that Ivan's grandmother had told them Garcia was
abusing the little boy, that the mother did nothing about it and that
the family had talked about reporting the abuse and drawing up custody
papers. Paramedics reported an old bite mark on Ivan's belly.
Child Protective Services had no prior reports involving the child.

I hope this loser of a mother gets put away for a long time. She knew the baby killer was an abuser and hurting that poor child. They both deserve death which they won't get so I hope they at least get along time in jail and that they are abused by their fellow inmates. These people are sickening.
