ALEXANDRIA (Aly) MARQUES - 16 yo - Clovis NM
A 16-year-old Clovis girl, missing since June 7, had thoughts of
running away before her disappearance, according to a supplemental
police report released Tuesday.
The police report also shows that Alexandria (Aly) Marques had been
in contact with an Albuquerque-area woman affiliated with a church group
and “mentions she might visit when school is out,” the Clovis News Journal reported.
Laurie Haskell, the girl’s aunt and guardian, has insisted the girl
did not run away but had a history of “blanking out” and getting lost,
the News Journal said.
Haskell said Tuesday that her niece’s Facebook friend from
Albuquerque is aware of the girl’s disappearance and has joined efforts
to find her, the paper reported.
Police have said that a female matching Marques’ description was seen
headed south on U.S. 70 the same afternoon as the girl’s disappearance,
according to the News Journal.
The girl was first listed as a runaway, but her status was changed to
“endangered” on June 12 by the New Mexico Department of Public Safety,
the News Journal said.
Haskell told the paper that her niece has been diagnosed with PTSD,
has undergone three heart surgeries, cut her wrist some time last year
and was hospitalized in March after “huffing” compressed air, the paper
reported.

Missing Clovis girl found
06/26/2012
A 16-year-old Clovis girl, missing more than two weeks, has been found safe in Detroit,
family members said Tuesday night.
Aly Marques will be "returning to Clovis as soon as arrangements can be
made," her uncle, Sam Haskell, wrote on his Facebook page. "We haven't
been given any other details yet."
Haskell said the family learned from the FBI that Aly had been found.
Laurie Haskell, the girl's aunt, sent Clovis Media Inc. a Facebook message,
also confirming she has been located. "I don't know anything else yet
... just she's OK," she wrote.
Clovis police said Aly disappeared from her Clovis home on June 7 and may have
been spotted hitchhiking between Clovis and Portales that same afternoon.
Aly was initially listed as a runaway, but her status was changed to
"endangered" on June 12 by the New Mexico Department of Public Safety.
Laurie Haskell said Aly has been diagnosed with post traumatic stress
disorder and had wandered away and become lost at least twice this year
before June 7.
