Baez bashes police in new book, questions Casey's mental health
WESH 2 obtains excerpts from upcoming book
ORLANDO, Fla. - Jose Baez bashes the police and questions Casey Anthony's mental health in his new book.
The book is expected to be released in July, but WESH 2 has already obtained two excerpts from it.
In the book, Baez makes several statements about Anthony's mental state. He touches on her intricate web of lies and says her false story-telling was the sign of a mental health issue, not guilt.
Baez also accuses the orange County Sheriff's Office on being too quick with an arrest.
"If they had just let her remain free, they could have watched her and gotten a better idea of the extent of her involvement of Caylee's disappearance," Baez writes. "She immediately got herself a lawyer (yours truly), which meant they had no more acess to her. I'd have to say that was a really stupid move on their part."
