FAMILY AND FRIENDS SELL T-SHIRTS FOR MISSING TEEN HUNTER BARNES
MARYVILLE
(WATE) - Family and friends began selling t-shirts Saturday to help in
the search efforts for a missing Blount County teen.
17-year-old Hunter Barnes of Maryville hasn't
been seen or heard from since June. He was last seen withdrawing $1800
dollars from Alcoa Tennessee Federal Credit Union.
On Saturday, family and friends began selling
t-shirts for Hunter at the Walgreen's on Highway 411. There's already a
$2,000 reward for information leading to his whereabouts.
They're hoping additional money raised by selling the shirts may get someone to come forward with info.
"He's backwards, he's shy," said Sue
Helterbrand, a friend of the Barnes family. "He talked to his family
everyday. I don't believe he's a runaway. He's local still. We are
praying he's local still, and he needs to come home."
The group raised close to $500 Saturday and
a prayer walk is scheduled for July 21. The walk will take place at
Maryville High School at 2 p.m.
Hunter was last seen driving a 2000 white Mazda Protégé with tag number C37-08Y.
The teen has brown hair, and blue eyes, stands 5'9" in height and weighs 150 lbs.
