Barbara Walters praises Jose Baez’s ‘fascinating’ book

Joy Behar told Jose Baez that he may have been Casey Anthony’s only friend.

“Whether she had friends or not, she had one great lawyer. He got her acquitted,” Barbara Walters said on Wednesday’s edition of “The View.” Baez smiled broadly.

Baez was there to promote “Presumed Guilty,” his book about the Anthony case. Walters called it “fascinating.”

The “View” hosts wanted to know if Anthony is getting therapy. Baez said he didn’t know because he stopped representing her in January. Anthony supports herself on the charity of others, Baez said.

“I liked her as a person,” he said.

But because of her behavior and lies, Anthony is like the boy who cried wolf, Baez said. He added that mental health experts told him that Anthony showed signs of sexual abuse.

Baez reiterated his claim that 2-year-old Caylee Anthony accidentally drowned in the family swimming pool and that George Anthony, Casey’s father, covered up the accident. Casey Anthony was acquitted last year of murder in her daughter’s death.
