Only The Killer Would’ve Had Such A Reaction

Casey Anthony’s attorney, Jose Baez, also questioned two of the jail guards who saw Casey’s reaction the minute she found out her daughter’s body was found. The defense has accused the jail officers of some serious violations.
The defense grilled jail Sgt. Billy Richardson for nearly three hours Thursday, so long they had to cancel the deposition of another jail officer scheduled for Thursday. The defense accuses the jail of violating Casey’s privacy, but the jail says she has no privacy because she’s in jail.
Even when Casey Anthony knows she’s being watched, like during video visitations, her emotions pour out. The possible discovery of remains at Blanchard Park brought no reaction. She knew after that the jail was paying attention.
Yet, on December 11, when Casey was told Caylee’s remains might have been found near her house, jail officers, including Sgt. Billy Richardson, the supervisor of the female detention center, told investigators she hyperventilated and asked for medication.
“I’m not at liberty to talk to you,” Sgt. Richardson said as he left following the three-hour deposition.
The defense accuses Richardson and other jail officers of divulging Casey’s private medical information, which the jail says they don’t have access to, and violating her privacy at the public facility.
“Well, I think we clearly laid it out legally in our motion with all of the different possible violations both constitutional as well as privacy issues,” Baez told WFTV reporter Kathi Belich Thursday morning as he walked into the State Attorney’s Office “They’re not physicians. A lay person may in fact testify as to what a person’s reaction was to a certain event,” WFTV legal expert Bill Sheaffer said.
Sheaffer says prosecutors will use her reaction to prove guilty knowledge.
“Only the killer would know that. Only the killer would’ve had such a reaction,” he said.
There are still plenty of questions to come from Casey’s attorney. Friday, he’s expected to question two sheriff’s investigators. Eyewitness News has learned one of them investigated Deputy Richard Cain.
Cain is the Orange County deputy who went to the crime scene months before Caylee’s body was found, but never found her remains. Baez is also expected to depose a co-worker of Roy Kronk. Kronk is meter reader credited with finding Caylee’s remains. Source
