Teen Visiting From United Kingdom Reported Missing

DAVENPORT | Officials said Sunday night they are searching for a missing 16-year-old girl from the United Kingdom who is visiting the area with her parents.

Amy Turner was last seen Saturday on the 500 block of Montara Drive in Davenport, according to the Florida Department of Law Enforcement.

A missing child alert was issued Sunday asking for help locating Turner. She is white, 5-feet 4-inches tall, about 140 pounds and has blue-green hair and blue eyes.

Turner has a short bob haircut in a photo authorities released of her Sunday.

She was last seen wearing bright green jeans, a black T-shirt and a black "Linkin Park" sweatshirt.

The Polk County Sheriff's Office said she is visiting the area with her parents from the United Kingdom. Her parents found a note Sunday morning that led them to call authorities.

Deputies are reviewing her computer to see whether it could give any hints to where she might have gone. Anyone with information was asked to call the Sheriff's Office at 863-298-6200.

British teen tourist fled Florida with online lover

A 21-year-old man is behind bars today accused of fleeing Florida with his 16-year-old online lover who vacationing in Florida from Great Britain.

Zachary Miller met the teen online in May and the two began a long distance relationship. Miller and the girl planned to run away together once her family arrived in the United States.

Miller drove to Polk County to pick her up and then drove back to his parents' home in Mississippi, according to the Polk County Sheriff's Office. Miller hid the teen his bedroom because he knew his parents would not approve, reports show.

The girl's father reported her missing from their vacation rental home in the Calabay Parc neighborhood in Davenport after finding a note. The girl wrote in the note that she wanted to end her life because she didn't want to be sad anymore and asked that her family not mourn for her.

Investigators discovered the teen's online relationship with Miller and tracked them down.

The girl was found unhurt at Millers home.

Miller was arrested in Mississippi and will be extradited back to Polk County. He is facing several charges including interference with child custody, removing minor from state, contributing to dependency of a minor.

The teen's family is enroute to Mississippi to pick up their daughter and return to Great Britain.
