Missing Lincoln County 16-Year-Old Male Sought

Sheriff’s
Detectives are asking the public for assistance in locating a missing
western Lincoln County teenager. 16-year-old Michael Dakota Horton, Jr.
of Cat Square Road was last seen at the residence around 9:30 p.m.
Friday (August 24) when he left with some friends to go to the Triple
“B” Rodeo. Michael has not spoken to family members since his
disappearance and attempts to contact his cell phone have been
unsuccessful.

He is a white male, last seen wearing an aqua
colored polo shirt, white and blue plaid shorts, a wide brimmed white
hat and black Nike shoes. He is 5’8”, 240 pounds, with black hair and
blue eyes.

He is possibly in the counties of Catawba, Gaston and
Lincoln and has been entered as a missing person in the FBI’s National
Crime Information Center (NCIC).

Anyone with information
regarding the whereabouts of Michael Dakota Horton, Jr. is asked to call
the Lincoln Co. Sheriff’s Office at 704-732-9050 or call a local law
enforcement agency.

8/29/2012: MISSING TEEN: North Carolina: The
Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office is asking the public to help deputies
locate a teen boy who’s been missing from his western county residence
for more than two days.

Family and friends of Michael

Dakota Horton Jr., 16, of Cat Square Rd. in Vale, who’s since been
entered as “missing” into the Federal Bureau of Information’s National
Crime Information Center, told deputies they have not heard from the
teen since 9:30 p.m. Sunday, despite attempts to call his cell phone.

Horton had been on his way to Triple B. Rodeo and was wearing an
aqua-colored polo shirt, white and blue plaid shorts, a wide-brimmed
white hat and Nike shoes, according to a Sheriff’s Office press release.
He is described as being 5-foot-8, 240 pounds with black hair and blue
eyes, the release said.

Deputies believe the teen is somewhere in Gaston, Lincoln or Catawba counties.

Anyone with information on Horton’s whereabouts is asked to contact the
Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office at (704) 732-9050 or another local law
enforcement agency.
