Missouri Mother Gets 25 Years For Baby’s Burning Death

LEBANON, Mo. (AP) – A central Missouri woman was sentenced to 25 years in prison for the death of her young son, who died after his blanket was set on fire.

Twenty-nine-year-old Christina White was sentenced Thursday for second-degree murder. She also was sentenced to 25 years for arson and seven years for child endangerment. The sentences will be served at the same time.

Prosecutors say White set fire to a blanket wrapped around her 7-month-old son, Wayne Anderson Jr., in July 11, 2007, at a home in Iberia. The boy died 20 days later.

White entered an Alford plea on May 31, meaning she didn’t plead guilty but conceded there was enough evidence to convict her. KYTV reports that White has said she doesn’t remember the death of her son.

How awful. It sounds like she burned her baby alive. And then the poor baby suffered for 20 days. This monster should get life in prison.
