Man to be arraigned for sexually molesting 3-year-old daughter

JACKSON, MI – A Blackman Township man is to be arraigned Monday afternoon on several counts of criminal sexual conduct for allegedly sexually assaulting his 3-year-old daughter.
He would take showers with the girl and told Blackman-Leoni Township public safety detectives Christopher Boulter and Joseph Merritt that he may have attempted to have sex with her six times. He said it happened “too many times to remember,” according to a petition seeking to remove the girl from the care of her mother and father, who were living at the Avalon Hotel, 2000 Bondsteel Drive.
The man was arrested Thursday and the girl has been placed in foster care, said Boulter, a sergeant.
Two other children, boys aged 5 and 8, also were removed from the custody of the girl’s mother, according to court records.
“I know you are going to have a lot of questions as to why this happened and I can tell you that at this time, I am not fully sure as to why this happened,” the man wrote in an “apology letter” quoted in the petition.
“Please know that I want the best for you and I am going to get the help I need. My head is not right and hasn’t been for a long time. I know that I can never take back what I did and can say sorry a million times."
The sexual abuse is alleged to have taken place from late last year until May, Boulter said.
On May 7, Children’s Protective Services received a complaint alleging the girl was displaying “a lot of sexualized behavior.” She asked her brother to have sex with her, “humped her stuffed animals,” and found pornography and put it in the DVD player, according to the petition.
The woman, who is married to the child’s father, admitted to assisting her husband in attempting to penetrate their daughter, according to the petition. The man said she held the 3-year-old’s hands while he held her legs and the girl was “trying to get away,” according to the petition.
Her mother also admitted she and her husband watched pornography and had sex in the girl’s presence, and she told Merritt and Boulter the couple took elicit photos of the child, according to the petition.
The woman, who has a history of being sexually abused, also said her husband has forced sex on her and once grabbed her throat after she saw him physically abuse her sons when they were ages 2 and 4. He told her if she called the police, he would throw her out a window, according to the petition.
The woman has not been charged with a crime. The investigation is continuing, detectives said.
The Department of Human Services is seeking to terminate the parental rights of both parents.
All the children were taken from the couple’s home early this month. An order was signed Thursday, June 6.

Father pleads guilty to repeatedly raping his three-year-old daughter while his wife held her hand so it 'wouldn't hurt too much'

The father who repeatedly raped his three-year-old daughter while her mom held her hand so it 'wouldn't hurt too much' pleaded guilty yesterday and faces life in prison.

The 28-year-old admitted assaulting the girl while he lived with her and her mother at the Avalon Hotel in Blackman Township, Michigan.

As part of the plea agreement he will testify against his wife, who was arrested in June on two counts of first-degree criminal sexual conduct.

His crimes are punishable by up to life in prison and he will serve 25 years to life in prison when he is sentenced on December 4.

According to an amended criminal complaint, the abuse began in August 2012 and continued until May 13, MLive reports.

The father told a detective it happened maybe six times but it was 'too many to remember'.

He showered with the girl, inappropriately touched her, took elicit photos for his own “sexual gratification” and watched pornography with the child, the petition alleged.

In exchange for the man’s plea, the prosecutor’s office dropped ten other counts.

The parents have not been named to protect their daughter's identity. Both were living in the Avalon Hotel when they were arrested.

The mother was not initially charged with anything even though police knew she was present during the abuse and did nothing to stop it.

But since then some 'disturbing evidence' came to light and prosecutors were able to arrest her.

The mother admitted after her husband was arrested that she assisted him while he attempted to penetrate their daughter more than once, holding her hands 'so it wouldn't hurt so much' while he held her legs if she 'tried to get away', according to documents.

The couple’s daughter told authorities her mother took pictures of her 'private parts' and her dad had sex with her and smacked her with a belt.

It came to the attention of Children's Protective Services on May 7 when they received a complaint that the toddler was displaying 'sexualized behavior' such as 'humping her stuffed animals' and asking her brother for sex. She also found a pornography DVD and tried to watch it.

The man told detectives when he was arrested that he is a 'sex addict' and has gambling problems. He also said he was sexually abused as a child, as did his wife.

The couple would watch porn and have sex in front of the children.

Thank heavens they are going to prosecute the uterus. 

I cannot imagine a mother doing this to her little baby girl. 

They both need to spend the rest of their lives in prison.
