Casey Anthony must testify under oath about Caylee's disappearance, attorney says

In less than a month, Casey Anthony will be forced to answer questions that have been a mystery since her daughter went missing in 2008, attorney Matt Morgan confirmed Thursday.

"Casey Anthony will not be permitted to plead the 5th as her appeals have now been resolved," Morgan said attorney for Zenaida Gonzalez, who has filed suit against Anthony. "We look forward to getting answers to the questions we have had for a very long time."

The deposition scheduled for Oct. 9 in Tampa is related to Gonzalez's defamation lawsuit.

Anthony told detectives in 2008 that her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee, was kidnapped by a baby sitter named Zenaida Fernandez-Gonzalez.

But detectives said no such nanny existed.

The girl's body was found in December 2008.

Anthony was found not guilty of Caylee's death in 2011.

Anthony has never been required to answer questions about her daughters disappearance under oath in court and Morgan said he does not foresee any obstacles standing in the way of her deposition next month.

Charles Green, Anthony's attorney, was not available Thursday morning.

Casey Anthony will be deposed next month in a civil case filed by Zenaida Gonzalez, and Anthony will not be able to plead the Fifth, according to attorney Matt Morgan.

Morgan, who represents Gonzalez, tweeted Thursday morning that Anthony's deposition has been scheduled.

"We have successfully set #CaseyAnthony 's deposition. She will not be permitted to take the 5th. One step closer to #Justice !!!!" Morgan tweeted.

Gonzalez is suing Anthony for defamation, saying reputation was damaged after Anthony claimed her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee, was kidnapped in 2008 by a nanny with a similar name.

Anthony was acquitted of murder in the death of Caylee in 2011.  Her attorney, Jose Baez, said in opening statements that Caylee drowned in the family swimming pool.

Texas EquuSearch, a group that performed several searches for Caylee after she was reported missing, is also suing Anthony.
