Queens barber fatally stabs teen who sold him a Bluetooth device: family
Carl Richardson, 19, went to Select Stylez Barbershop in Laurelton to collect the money, but Cedric Simpson refused to pay him and the two scuffled, according to Richardson's relatives. Simpson is charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon, cops said.

A 19-year-old college student who went to a Queens barbershop to collect on a debt Thursday wound up paying with his life instead when the barber stiffed him and plunged a pair of scissors into his chest, cops and the victim’s dad said.
Carl Richardson sold a Bluetooth device to Cedric Simpson, 34, co-owner of Select Stylez Barbershop in Laurelton on Wednesday, according to the teen’s family. Simpson, they said, told Richardson to come back Thursday for his money.
But when the teen went to the Merrick Blvd. shop at about 2 p.m., Simpson refused to pay him the agreed-upon $40, Richardson’s family said.

The pair scuffled and had to be separated by customers, relatives said. But as an enraged Simpson was pulled away, he allegedly grabbed the scissors and stabbed Richardson three times, said the teen’s father, an MTA conductor also named Carl Richardson.
“It’s so senseless. So trivial. Over nothing,” the grieving father said.

“He didn’t have to reach for a weapon and cowardly stab my son. They were already broken up.”
The teen's devastated sister Sherina Deredaviz, 30, said her dying brother, who had gone to the barbershop weekly for a trim, begged another patron to pray for him as he bleed out after the brutal stabbing.

"His last words were 'pray for me', to a gentleman who was there. he called upon God in his last moments," Deredaviz said, her voice cracking. "As he struggled to breathe, he said 'pray for me' and he (the patron) prayed."
Paramedics rushed the unresponsive Richardson to Franklin General Hospital, where he died a short time later, cops said.

Family and friends said the pragmatic teen aspired to become an occupational therapist after undergoing physical therapy stemming from finger infection last summer. He planned to transfer to York College from Nassau Community College, to pursue this dream.
The teen's mother, Johann Richardson, 49, said her son spent his time interning with an occupational therapist at a Bayside elementary school.
"The fact that he could help kids - he liked that - he wanted to do that," the grieving mother said at the family's Springfield Gardens home.
The victim's girlfriend, Sheneque Mardner, who also sat vigil at the family home, said Richardson was more concerned with building a future than partying.
Facebook Richardson had sold a Bluetooth device to Simpson and returned to the barbershop to collect the money when a fight broke out between the two, according to relatives.
"He was so focused on being successful. He was the first person I met who actually sat down with me and wanted to talk about and plan a future. What we were going to do, what houses we were going to buy," said Mardner, 18. "I just thought Carl was an amazing person."
The young victim was selling the devices to raise $1,500 to buy a car, his father said.
Simpson is charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon, cops said. He was awaiting arraignment Friday.

Such a sad, tragic loss. Condolences to his family and I hope the killer is convicted to a long sentence for such senseless murder.
