BOWLING GREEN, Ky. – Authorities in southern Kentucky are searching for a missing toddler who was allegedly abducted by her father on Monday evening.
The Warren County Sheriff's Office said Robert Pomeroy broke into the home of the child's mother on Scottsville Road in Bowling Green just before 8:30 p.m. and took his 20-month-old daughter Lillian.
The 25-year-old is the girl's biological father but does not have custody.
The Bowling Green Daily News reported that the mother's boyfriend, Benjamin Pedigo, was giving the toddler a bath, and Pomeroy wrapped his daughter in a towel before fleeing the scene in a late 1990s or early 2000s off-white, four-door Lexus.
The child's mother was reportedly away from the home at the time, and Pedigo was babysitting Lillian.
Pomeroy was said to be with his girlfriend, Sabrina Vanmeter, at the time of the kidnapping.
Vanmeter was taken into custody at a home on Jack Simmons Road just after 10:45 a.m. Tuesday. She was booked into the Warren County Regional Jail on a warrant for kidnapping.
Pomeroy and Lillian have still not been found. A kidnapping warrant has also been issued for Pomeroy's arrest.
Warren County Sheriff's Office officials initially requested an Amber Alert from Kentucky State Police, the paper reported, but the agency advised the kidnapping did not meet the criteria for an Amber Alert.
Anyone with information is asked to contact 911 or (270) 842-1633.
