Amber Alert issued for Dustin Wade Shaver - DC News FOX 5 DC WTTG

Virginia State Police have issued an Amber Alert for 15 year old Dustin Wade Shaver. He was last seen at his house on Pannell Drive in Hurt, VA. He is believed to be in imminent danger. Virginia State Police say he was likely abducted by 39 year old Denise Michelle Shaver, she is Dustin's biological mother. She may be with 24 year old Kevin Scott Parrish.

 
They may be traveling in a 1995 Green Jeep with Virginia tags, VAC 5770.

Pittsylvania County deputies say three people have been charged in the abduction of a local teen.

Two suspects held in connection with the abduction of a Pittsylvania County teen are fighting extradition from North Carolina, Sheriff Mike Taylor said Monday.

Denise Michelle Shaver, 39, and Kevin Scott Parrish, 24, both of Keswick, refused to sign a waiver of extradition to the county Monday in Johnston County, North Carolina, Taylor said. They are being held at the Johnston County Jail.

Shaver is the biological mother of the teen, Dustin Wade Shaver, who was reported missing from his Long Island home July 7. He was found Sunday in Benson, North Carolina, following an Amber Alert that was issued Saturday.

A third suspect, Kayla Michelle Hoy of Amherst, is being held in Wake County, North Carolina. Taylor said he had no information regarding Hoy’s extradition.

Taylor said the Pittsylvania County Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office will seek a transportation order and a governor’s warrant for the arrest of Parrish and Denise Shaver.

Those will be pending until the two suspects go before a judge for extradition hearings, Taylor said.

According to the Amber Alert issued Saturday by the Virginia State Police, Dustin Shaver had been last seen on Pannell Drive in Hurt; a green Jeep, believed to be driven by Denise Shaver, was also seen at the location.

The Amber Alert stated the juvenile was “believed to be in extreme danger” and sought the public’s help in finding him, the suspects and the vehicle.

Taylor declined to provide more information about the suspects Monday.
