Morgan Files Motion To Force Anthonys To Talk
ORLANDO, Fla. -- Attorneys for Zenaida Gonzalez are asking a judge to force George and Cindy Anthony to respond to certain questions they would not answer during recent depositions.
In sworn depositions this month, both were hostile and refused to answer questions they thought were outside the scope of Gonzalez's defamation lawsuit against the Anthonys' daughter, Casey.
Casey Anthony is charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death of her daughter, Caylee. Casey Anthony said a nanny named "Zenaida Gonzalez" took Caylee, but the family says it is not the Gonzalez who is suing Casey Anthony.
The questions had to do with whether Casey Anthony stole from their accounts, whether Cindy Anthony asked private investigator Dominic Casey to look in the woods where Caylee's remains were found a month after he searched the area, and what efforts the family made to try to find the babysitter Casey claimed kidnapped Caylee.
Another key figure in the case against Casey Anthony is asking a judge to block defense attorney Jose Baez's attempts to access her phone records.
Amy Huizenga has filed a motion asking for a protective order from a subpoena filed by Baez. Huizenga argues that the subpoena is too broad and "constitutes harassment" and an invasion of privacy.
Huizenga was a close friend of Casey Anthony's while Caylee was missing. Casey Anthony told Huizenga the smell of death in her car came from a dead squirrel.
Roy Kronk, the former meter reader who found Caylee's remains in December, filed a similar motion recently.
Also on Friday, prosecutors turned over to the defense hundreds of more pages of discovery evidence including interviews with bail bondsman Leonard Padilla's employees. One of them, Tracy McLaughlin, spent more than a week in August in close contact with Casey Anthony inside the Anthony home.
The state has added six more expert prosecution witnesses on Friday. Most are from the FBI crime lab.
