GRANITE CITY, IL (KTVI) – A seven week old baby is severely beaten, allegedly by its parents. Ashlee Wethington and Kamryn Kerr are charged with aggravated battery to a child and child endangerment.

The baby suffered multiple rib fractures, and internal injuries.

Bond for the couple has been set at $200,000 each.

Granite City pair charged with breaking infant's ribs

GRANITE CITY • The parents of a 7-week-old infant who was brought to a hospital with broken ribs and other injuries have been charged with abusing the baby, police said today.

Ashlee N. Wethington, 18, and Kamryn N. Kerr, 20, both of the 4000 block of Braden Street, were charged with aggravated battery to a child and endangering the life or health of a child.

Police said the pair were arrested after the baby was brought to the Gateway Regional Medical Center emergency room on Monday with multiple broken ribs and internal injuries. They were charged today and are jailed in Granite City.

A judge set bail for each at $200,000.
