ORLANDO, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) - Investigators
on Friday released a frantic 911 call placed by the father of a
4-year-old who said a man broke into a their house early Thursday
morning and attempted to take his daughter and sexually assault her. In
a news conference Thursday morning, sheriff's deputies said the man
entered the home around 3:30 a.m. through a side window. The suspect
located the 4-year-old girl, took her from her bed and into a another
room in the house where he attempted to sexually assault her. The
girl screamed to alert her parents. Both the girl's mother and father
woke up. Deputies said the father chased the suspect back out the
window and several hundred yards down the street. Investigators said
the suspect did not manage to sexually assault the girl because her
parents got there in time. Sheriff Demings spoke briefly at the
news conference and said his department is committing a lot of
resources to locate the suspect. Officials said the girl's
family is devastated and extremely scared. The girl's 7-year-old
brother who has a separate bedroom slept through the entire incident
and was not harmed. Sheriff's deputies need your help
identifying the suspect. A composite sketch of the man was made
Thursday morning. The suspect is described as a possible Hispanic male
in his mid 30's. He has dark skin, is heavy set and was wearing black
pants and a silver shirt. Several sheriff's officers were in the
neighborhood Thursday afternoon, passing out flyers of the compsite
sketch of the suspect and to alert them of the incident. Investigators
said the family did not recognize the suspect, but detectives planned
to question every person who had recently been at the home. Anyone with information about the incident should call 1-800-423-TIPS.
This sounds eerily similar to the Jon Benet Ramsey case. I wonder if this man was in Boulder in the past. I sincerely hope they catch him.
