Our Morning...once again

When I woke up this morning all was quiet in the house
I made your favorite breakfast just as quiet as a mouse
I didn't hear you get up and make your way down the hall
So I peeked in your bedroom and your name I softly called

Your bed was neatly made and the toys were off the floor
I made a mental note to myself to take you to the store
I looked in all the rooms just to find out where you could be
Then my broken heart reminded me that you were gone from me

I dropped to the floor crying as I went down in a heap
I kept asking God why it was you that I couldn't keep
Then I heard a soft airily sound gently near my head
When I looked up slowly I saw an angel above your bed

I began to smile as I recognized your sweet cherub face
Time stood quietly still as in my arms you took your place
A lifetime of love passed as I held you like many times before
I gave you one last loving kiss and let you go forevermore
