MICHAEL KING - 9 yo - Minneapolis MN Empty Michael - FOUND SAFE

Post by TomTerrific0420 Sun Sep 06, 2009 4:24 pm

Minneapolis police have located a 9-year-old boy who has been missing since Saturday afternoon.

Police say they found Michael King safe at a neighbor's house around 9:30 a.m., Sunday. Police say Michael left his home near Lyndale Ave. and 35the St. in North Minneapolis around 2:30 p.m., Saturday. His mother told police Michael went to a nearby park and was told to be home before dark. When he did not return home, police say Michael's mother called police around 10 p.m. That is when police say they began searching for the boy.

"Overnight, we checked friend's houses, old addresses that he's lived at,
neighbor's homes, parks, cemeteries, any place he may have gone and
gotten lost," said Minneapolis Police Sergeant Jesse Garcia. "This morning, we started going door to door and checking houses."

Around 60 police officers, Hennepin County Sheriff's Deputies, a state patrol
helicopter and bloodhounds searched the boy's North Minneapolis
neighborhood Sunday morning. Police say they were concerned for the
boy's safety because he suffers from a learning disability.
