An Amber Alert has been issued for a Baytown boy, who police believe was taken by his father.

Police say Samuel Blake Kirtley, 14, was taken from his grandmother's
house in League City by his father, Neal Haynes Roberts, 49, back on
Sunday at around 6pm. Officials
say that Child Protective Services has an open case against Samuel's
father for physical abuse, and that he has a history of family violence
and aggravated kidnapping Roberts is believed to be driving a
dark blue 2004 Kia 4-door with Texas license plate 178HWV. If you've

The Baytown Police Department said a 14-year-old boy, who was last
seen Sunday night at his grandmother's house in League City, has been
found safely after an Amber Alert was issued for him on Wednesday
afternoon. Neal Haynes Roberts, 49, took Samuel Blake Kirtley on
Sunday after 6 p.m. from the house at the 5900 block of Wildfire Street
in League City, according to police. Samuel has a physical abuse
case against Neal in the Child Protective Services system.
Investigators say Neal has a history of family violence and aggravated
kidnapping.

A teen who was the subject of an Amber Alert issued on Wednesday has
been placed in a foster home after a court allows Child Protective
Services to gain custody of the child. Samuel Blake Kirtley was found late Wednesday night. Another hearing is scheduled on Sept. 21 in district court. Neal
Haynes Roberts, 49, took Kirtley on Sunday after 6 p.m. from the home
of the boy's grandmother at the 5900 block of Wildfire Street in League
City, according to the Baytown Police Department. Kirtley had a
physical abuse case against Neal in the Child Protective Services
system. Investigators say Neal has a history of family violence and
aggravated kidnapping. 14-year-old Kirtley was picked up by
Baytown officers on Aug. 28 after he was seen running across the Fred
Hartman Bridge on his way to his grandmother's house. The boy told
officers at the time trying to escape from his father. Roberts
contacted the League City Police Department by phone and said that he
wanted custody of the Kirtley from the teen's grandmother. League City
police say that after a supervisor interjected into the case and
contacted CPS, the department was instructed to hand over the child to
Roberts. Officers from League City also said that Kirtley acted
as if he wanted to stay with his grandmother. Police brought the boy
from his grandmother's house to League City officers who took him to
Roberts' home. Police departments from League City and Weslaco also took part in the investigation.
