TYCHELLE STOOS and JOHANN VAN DEINSE - 16 yo - Winona MN

Two Winona high school students have been missing since
Saturday, after they emptied their bank accounts and presumably
left town.

Tammi Stoos last saw her daughter, Tychelle, that morning when
she dropped her off at the home of her boyfriend, Johann Van
Deinse.

Friends say the teens talked about running away to Canada, but
family members don't have any leads on their whereabouts.

"We are very close. We talk all the time," Tammi Stoos said of
her daughter. "It's so out of character."

The 16-year-olds were listed in databases for missing children
after Van Deinse's father filed a missing persons report, said
Winona Police Chief Paul Bostrack.



E-mails about the missing teens have circulated in Winona this
week, and a Facebook page about them has more than 2,800
members.

Tammi Stoos suspects they had planned to run away for about a
week. The two have dated since this summer, she said.

Police have tried to track them using cell phone records, but
neither of the teen's phones have been used since Saturday, when
they were last monitored near Chicago, Tammi Stoos said.

Winona police are working with the Winona County Sheriff's
Department and have interviewed the teens' friends at Winona Senior
High School. The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension was also
alerted, Bostrack said.

Police say the disappearance is unusual, since most local
runaways are found quickly or return home after a short time.

Tychelle Stoos is white, 5 foot 1 inch, 115 pounds with blue
eyes and blond hair. Van Deinse is Asian-American, about 5 foot 6
inches, 140 pounds with brown eyes. They are thought to be driving
a blue 1999 Pontiac Grand Am with white racing stripes.

Information about the missing teens can be reported to the

"We just want her home," she said.

don't have many cases where they left for that amount of time and have
not returned or been found," said Paul Bostrack, Winona Police Chief. Their parents say the scariest part is the unknown. "I want her to come home, I want to know she's ok," said Stoos. "We just want to know you're ok, that is the very first thing," said Vandeinse. Because every time the phone rings, they just hope. Everything that comes through, every new message, I just want it to be her or someone to help find her. Police and family are still searching for two Winona teenagers who disappeared a week ago.

Stoos and Johann Van Deinse, both 16, have not been heard from since
Saturday, Oct. 3. Tychelle's mother, Tammi Stoos, said all she wants is
to know that the teenagers are safe.
"Anyone that knows anything about where they might be, they can
remain anonymous," she said. "I don't care to get people into trouble.
I just want to know they are OK."
Stoos said the last time she saw her daughter she had dropped her
off at a McDonald's in Winona, where the teenager met her boyfriend,
Johann. Since then, the Winona Senior High School juniors haven't been
heard from.
The phone company determined that the last time the teens' cell
phones were used was 4:21 p.m. on Oct. 3, in Chicago. The phones have
not been used since.
Stoos said some students reported that Johann had been joking in
school that if he didn't show up for class the following week, he was
in Canada. But so far, Stoos said, she has "no idea" where the students
are.
The Winona Police Department and Winona County Sheriff's Office have
been assisting with the search. They have also submitted information to
the National Center for Exploited and Missing Children.
Meanwhile, Stoos has set up a Facebook page called "Bring Tychelle
and Johann Home!!" The site already has 4,000 members. She said she
never had any indication her daughter was thinking of running away.
"We are really a very close family. It's completely out of
character. I know where she is all the time. We text message, we talk,"
she said.
Tychelle is described as being 5 feet 1 inch tall and 115 pounds.
She has long blonde hair and blue eyes. Johann is 5-foot-6, 140 pounds
and Asian-American. They were thought to be driving a blue 1999 Pontiac

Police continue to search for two missing Winona teenagers, who disappeared a week ago.

Two Winona teenagers missing for more than
a week have been found in New Orleans.


Police were called to a hotel in New Orleans Sunday night after
Tychelle Stoos and her boyfriend, Johann Van Deinse tried to check
in.


Stoos' grandfather, Larry Stoos, says the hotel clerk called
police, probably because the two are 16 years old. New Orleans
police called the Stooses about 7 p.m.


Stoos' mother, Tammi, told police she last saw her daughter Oct.
3, when she dropped her off at Van Deinse's home. The boy's father
later filed a missing persons report.


Investigators say the two last used their cell phones near
Chicago on Oct. 3.
