A $10,000 reward is being offered for information into the disappearance of a South Philadelphia teen on Christmas Eve. 14-year-old Jason Vu was last seen at his home in the 2200 block of
South 23rd Street when his father saw him leave the house around 8:00
a.m.
Investigators checked the house, and contacted his
friends and family with no luck. Police say they have also checked area
hospitals. Vu is 5'4" tall and weighs 140 pounds. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans. If you have any information on Jason's whereabouts, The Citizen's Crime

PHILADELPHIA—A $10,000 reward is being offered in the case of a Philadelphia teenager who disappeared Christmas Eve. Fourteen-year-old Jason Vu was last seen leaving his South Philadelphia home on the morning of Dec. 24. His family says he left behind his cell phone, wallet and prescription glasses. The
teen's family is worried that he might have met someone online who may
have convinced him to leave home. They say he didn't have many friends
and spent a lot of time on his computer. Anyone with
information is asked to call Philadelphia police or the Citizen's Crime

cell phone, wallet, or prescription glasses, said his aunt, Michelle
Nguyen. He has not been heard from since.Nguyen yesterday said her nephew was quiet and reserved, and had never
run away from home. An "A" student at St. Thomas Aquinas School, Vu was
looking forward to opening presents on Christmas morning, she said."This is not like him at all. He doesn't know his way around the city,"
Nguyen said. "It's very unlikely that he went away on his own."Vu, who was described as not having many friends, spent a lot of his
free time on his computer. His family discovered a note on the machine
indicating that he was in a lot of emotional pain. "It could have been written by him, but we're not so sure," Nguyen said. "It sounds very adult."She said Vu's parents were worried that Vu might have met someone on the Internet who may have persuaded him to leave home.Last week, detectives took Vu's computer to look for clues. So far, they have not established any solid leads, Nguyen said.Vu, who is 5-foot-4, was wearing black shorts and a black hooded jacket
when he disappeared. He has black hair, brown eyes, and weighs about

The body of a missing teenager has been found and authorities say it
appears the teen took his own life.
14-year-old Jason Vu, from South Philadelphia, disappeared on
Christmas Eve. A reward was offered for his safe return. However, Vu's body was found late last week in the Delaware River,
near the Girard Point Bridge. Vu's mother told reporters on
Monday that her son had discussed life as being quote "painful."

Philadelphia police say a body found last
week in the Delaware River has been identified as that of a teenager
missing since Christmas Eve. Police spokesman Lt. Frank Vanore
says a police marine unit found the remains of 14-year-old Jason Vu near
the Girard Point Bridge on Thursday. The city medical examiner's office
identified the body through dental records. Police say Vu
left his South Philadelphia home on the morning of Dec. 24 without his
cell phone, wallet and prescription glasses. Relatives told
investigators that a note on his computer indicated that the teenager
was in emotional distress. Vu's family and the Citizens Crime
Commission had posted a $10,000 reward in an effort to find him.
