Hampstead | Pender County sheriff’s deputies are asking the public
to help find a 15-year-old boy who has been missing since Saturday.
Birch Lee Sheppard was last seen at his home in Hampstead and is
believed to have run away, according to Detective Sgt. Scott Lawson of
the sheriff’s office.

Anyone with information on the location of Sheppard is asked
to call the Pender County Sheriff's Department at 910-259-1515.

Authorities have checked with Sheppard’s friends and family, but haven’t found him.With temperatures hovering around freezing, Lawson said, he is concerned for the boy’s welfare.Sheppard is 5 feet, 10 inches tall and weighs about 125 pounds. He has brown hair and blue eyes.Sheriff’s deputies ask anyone with information about Sheppard to call detectives at (910) 259-1515.

A Hampstead teenager missing since the weekend was located Thursday due to media coverage, authorities said.
Birch Lee Sheppard, 15, was found outside in freezing temperatures
and returned home, said Pender County Sheriff’s Sgt. Scott Lawson, a
detective in the department’s Special Victims Unit.
“Due to coverage by one or more of your organizations, several
telephone calls were received regarding this missing child,” he said.
“Many viewers/readers saw him last night and early this morning in the
freezing temperatures. He is home with his family.”
Sheppard, a student at Amy Bradley in Wilmington, had been missing since Saturday night.
