COLUMBUS, Ohio — Police receive thousands of reports of teen runaways every year, but said Thursday that one case
is particularly concerning.Brooklyn Johnson has been missing for almost two weeks and police said they fear the 14-year-old
may have encountered danger.
Lucius Byrd said his daughter was supposed to be home during Christmas break, but now her face
is splashed across missing person posters.

"She is the perfect child, but somebody is in her head right now," Byrd said.
On Dec. 27, Johnson left and police said she may have been lured away.
Detectives believe Johnson may have been talking to older men on the Internet,
but since her
disappearance, there has been no activity on her
Facebook or MySpace pages.


"I found a notebook with the names of different guys, every one of them
was over 18; one guy
was in college, one getting ready to get married,
and they didn't know her by the name of
Brooklyn," Byrd said.
Johnson was last seen leaving her home on Minnesota Avenue on the city's north side.
She may have been wearing brown boots, a tan jacket and carrying a burgundy purse.
Anyone with information is asked to call police.
Columbus Police received more than 6,700 missing person reports last year,
and nearly two-thirds
of those involved teens.

COLUMBUS, Ohio—Police issued an endangered runaway alert for a missing 14-year-old girl who was last seen at her home in late December.

Officials are searching for Brooklyn S. Johnson.
She is described as
a 14-year-old black female, 5 feet tall, weighing 135 pounds with brown
eyes and black hair.

She is believed to have been wearing brown boots and a tan jacket and was carrying a burgundy oversized purse.

Police said she may be in the company of several unknown adult males and her whereabouts are unknown and of grave concern.

Family members and friends have not seen or heard from her since Dec. 27. The location of her home was not released.

There has been no computer activity on her Facebook or MySpace accounts since she was reported missing.

That case has been closed she has been found and returned to her family. She had run away from home.
