"Infant" LUKENS - (2005) - Albuquerque NM

An Albuquerque man is facing a long prison sentence after being convicted of child abuse.
A Bernalillo County District Court jury returned a guilty verdict
Monday
against 26-year-old David Lukens for a single count of child
abuse resulting in great bodily harm.
The verdict came after one day of deliberations in a trial that lasted two weeks.
Lukens was charged after a doctor discovered over 20 fractures in
the body
of Lukens' infant child during a 2005 medical appointment.
Lukens faced three counts of child abuse at his trial.
He faces a
mandatory sentence of 18 years imprisonment at a sentencing hearing to
be held at a later date.
